Lakers need to find a guy that can play like Robert Horry. Horry’s shadow is still in LAL and since he left the team, a lot has changed. We need a guy like him that used to play against the big PF like Duncan, Wallace, jermaine Webber an so on,,,,.... Horry used to score about 6-8 points and 7-9 RB but play very good D and smart on the court. i think it all started when he left LAL after a bad season shooting wise. i feel that was the biggest mistake that the Lakers are paying now. he is not doing a lot in san Antonio but he is doing what the team wants. Coming off the bench that is what i would love to have a guy like Horry come off the bench and guide the young guys with his experience. It will take some time to find a guy like him and maybe we won’t. |

The next Horry will likely be a Euro.
Shooter / Boxes out for Rebounds.
Don't know where the D will come from though |

David West in itruiging.
Cookie could be the offensive version of Horrt, but his defensive abilities (Man D, Shotblocking, Rebounding) are virtually non-existant. |

If we could get Cook to grow out a respectable 'fro and have his balls anodized, we could be looking at a worthy successor. _________________ Dumbledore closed his eyes and slowly lowered his head before Kupchak. "Teach me," he whispered. |

Noway.
Kwame is way stronger and bigger than Horry.
Horry was a SF who turned himself into a PF.
Kwame is a natural bigman in size. |

For starters, you're missing the key ingredient which is a dominant center/post player that allows a 6'10" guy to stand out on the perimeter and shoot open jumpshots and not have to worry about putting the ball on the floor.
When you look back on the most successful parts of Horry's career, he had a dominant post player (Hakeem, Shaq, TD) and guard (Clyde, Kobe, Manu) who could get into the lane and draw defenses which allowed him to make a living hanging out on the perimeter and not have to put the ball ont he floor.
Without that second ingredient, Horry is just a 6'10" jumpshooter who can't create his own shot opportunities. He's a crafty veteran defender, but without defensive post presence lurking in the middle he couldn't hold down someone like TD on his own. |

To get Horry, we need a pretty talented player to throw a towel in his coaches face so that they will be forced to trade him. |

No problem...
HOW TO CREATE ANOTHER HORRY
(1) Take one tall, skinny, long-armed small forward, preferable with shotblocking ability. (e.g. AK-47)
(2) Put him on a team with a shorter small forward (e.g. Rick Fox).
(3) Hire Del Harris as your coach so Del can beat your Horry project into the ground by having him guard power forwards at least 30 pounds heavier than he is in the post, without double teams. (e.g Karl Malone)
(4) Whack his knees with a tire iron every November when he isn't looking so he'll never feel comfortable playing until the swelling goes down in, say, April.
(5) Brainwash him so that he absolutely dreads post-up moves; e.g. blast him with 6 seconds of pepper spray every time he tries a turn-around move from within 12 feet of the basket during practice.
(6) Station him at the top of the key and fire balls at him with a modified automatic tennis-serving machine; force him to catch-and-shoot 10 3s in under 30 seconds or else you start aiming the machine at his children.
(7) Repeat.

Actually, Cookie is the closest thing we got to a bobby horry. So far he is a better shooter than Horry but I don't that anyone will ever be clutch the way Horry was. |
