Still can't believe he didn't even blink or flinch when Matt Barnes faked throwing the ball at him and just inches from his face.

Damn, I'm going to miss that kind of player when he does retire.

Charles Barkley has three chins on his face, but he still decides to talk out of his ass.
Looking forward to Kobe proving him wrong.
Wouldn't be the first time Charles was proven wrong. In fact, all of his playoff predictions were wrong last year. Especially the ones regarding GS.

I really want some psychologists/-iatrists to weigh in on the Barnes no-flinch.

How does that negation of normal human automatic response even happen, when he has no idea a fake is coming. Even knowing, 90% probably have some slight reaction bc of some slight doubt it's a fake.

Some people got that badass gene. You can find Kobes in lots of (usually high level) professions.

What Barkley never mentions is that he was never in great shape his entire career. I'd ignore the ringless [DELETED] personally, but it was a nice comeback.

Watch it again. Barnes doesn't fake the pass in Kobe's face. He does it hard to the left of his head. Since the angle flattens everything out, it's hard to tell. If the camera was right behind Barnes, you'd see it better.

This is true. But still -- no reaction at all? Sick.

1. It's probably a combination of things. First Kobe was rocking back a little before the play and the camera angle made it look like it was coming directly at this face, when it was more to his left. So the flinch stimuli was probably less intense from his perspective than it seems to be from ours.

2, NBA players are used to having the balls and hands swing in front of their face, so they're conditioned or have a greater natural predisposition to be able to immediately analyze what actions represent a genuine threat. It's part of their greater reaction time.

3. Because of brain chemistry, some people are naturally less likely to flinch.

His left handed shots throughout his career are god like. No other player in the history of the game has been able to pull the off hand shots in game like 24/ocho has. At least, I haven't seen it.

Ring-less buffoon is what im CERTAIN you meant. Right? Im also certain you would never say that to him in person.

And people question why we get incensed at the so-called Freudian slip...

While that might be true. Even Barnes admitted that he himself got scared because Kobe didn't react. He said this when he signed with the Lakers and was asked by some reporter.

Kobe doesn't need to prove anything, everyone already knows he's wrong.

I can see how that could be interpreted the wrong way and I apologize. Alot of people in the African-American community, myself included, turned on him when he made his comments about the police killings of unarmed black folks and we use that term to describe someone that degrades himself in public for a paycheck. My bad ladies/gents, I let my personal feelings of him get the better of me in that post.

You don't bring terms like that out of the African american community for general consumption.

That Kobe vs Matt Barnes game was one of the worst officiated games ever They got away with 7 or 8 technicals a piece.

In all fairness, and not to take nothing away from the champs, but they had to be the luckiest team to win a finals that recent memory can recall? I mean when your opponent is missing at the least two thirds of its best players you should win?
