I don't think they're going to be better. I KNOW they're going to be better.

Welcome to the board.

Also have Shabazz Muhammad and Andre Miller. They also got some Euro big man who was the top Euro player last year. I can see them keeping pace or beating the Lakers this year.

I just didn't want to end up listing their entire roster, but I probably should have. They are, at least on paper, light years ahead of us.
You know how they got all these young pieces right? By sucking ass consistently for years. You know what we were doing? Winning. It's been only after the Dwight and Nash fiasco when our rebuilding truly started.

I agree though. On paper, they seem like a better team overall.

I just can't believe they got old butts like KG, Miller and Prince to go live in Minny.

The last time I started "The Official Team Tank thread" it landed us the number 2 pick.

My Tank is ready on standby

If Kings stay healthy they should be better then us. God forbid Cousins gets a sore throat or something, or their FO is blowing the whole thing up like they do every year.

Money talks. They've all made their major dollars. They're all at a point where they will go to whichever team offers them a deal.

Makes me feel awful when I know that the Twolves have more talent than the Lakers.

I got the Lakers at 38 wins this season. We shall see, but I definitely don't think we're going to be in the 20's. It's time to take a step forward.

They have had to be very bad to acquire all that young and still "unknown, unproven" talent.

I still hold out hope LA can actually acquire the FA they want in the next three years? If we have to wait for George, then so be it imo. That is still better then anything Minnesota has been able to do since the days of Sprewell, Cassell, and KG.

38 wins would be incredible. In fact a +17 win turnaround probably puts us in the top 30 all-time turnarounds.

Well, "technically" not yet. But that didn't stop the Joe Smith wink-wink deals either.

This is factually true. Their best prospect was acquired in a trade for a "superstar". But technically we've sucked equally bad for 2 - 3 years now. The difference is they've brought in a lot of veterans to help mold and develop their young teammates. In my opinion, we should have a better record but they have better roster synergy to help develop these young guys..

I'm still perplexed at how we spent money this summer.

Yeah somehow I can't see Garnett spending the last of his gasoline on one of the league's worst teams just out of the kindness of his heart.

IDK he did really like Minnesota while he was there. Maybe he just wants to go out how he started. I can certainly respect that.

Not really that impressed with the Wolves.

Ricky Rubio - an even worse version of Rajon Rondo. Even Wolves fans hate his guts at this point.

Kevin Garnett - a corpse.

Andrew wiggins - future star

Karl Anthony Towns - Like him a lot. Could either be really good or really bad. So all star potential.

Nikola Pekovic - another player Wolves fans hate nowadays. A role player at this point that can't stay healthy.

Kevin Martin - good scorer and black hole defender. And will get traded anyway by the end of the next trade deadline. Surprised it hasn't happened yet.

Gary Neal - a career 3rd stringer who played like 11 games last year, who cares?

Tayshaun Prince - see Kevin Garnett

Zach Lavine - Clarkson is much better than him.

Gorgui Deng - role player potential

Lakers

Jordan Clarkson - future all star
Julius Randle - all star potential
DeAngelo Russell - Star potential
Tarik Black - role player potential
Larry Nance Jr - role player potential
Anthony Brown - meh....
Kobe Bryant - old but still capable of scoring 20 PPG, unlike the corpses on the Wolves.
Roy Hibbert - role player with all star defense.
Brandon Bass - role player
Lou Williams - sixth man of the year player (literally)
Ryan Kelly - hot garbage (hopefully will be gone)
Robert Sacre - hot garbage (hopefully will be gone)
Nick Young - garbage (hopefully will be gone sometime in the future)
Robert Upshaw - ??? With a chance to breakout like Clarkson

We have a couple more garbage players than the Wolves do but those players won't play almost any minutes anyway and/or will be gone anyway.

I fail to see where the Wolves are suddenly "light years" ahead of us.

Quote:
Garnett was recently traded back to Minnesota, and it sounds like he has plans to stay with the team long term.

According to Charley Walters of the Pioneer Press, Garnett wants to play for two more seasons and then form a group with coach and president Flip Saunders to buy the team in 2017.

From Walters:

The Wolves, for whom [owner Glen Taylor] paid $88 million in 1994, were valued at $625 million last January by Forbes. Taylor, who turns 74 in April, is amenable to taking in more limited partners. But he's not interested in selling his team until he finds out what the Atlanta Hawks, who are for sale and currently are taking bids, end up going for.

Garnett told Yahoo Sports back in November, "I want to buy the Timberwolves. Put a group together and perhaps some day try to buy the team. That's what I want."

His Laker outlook:

Jordan Clarkson - future all star
Julius Randle - all star potential
DeAngelo Russell - Star potential
Roy Hibbert - role player with all star defense.

His Twolves outlook:

Ricky Rubio - an even worse version of Rajon Rondo
Andrew wiggins - future star (LOL)
Karl Anthony Towns - Like him a lot. Could either be really good or really bad (But Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson are Future All Star's)
Kevin Martin - good scorer (good scorer? 20 ppg last year)

Lakers are going to be a lot better than most people think. I just hope we're developing our young talent instead of trying to win too many games. I'm not happy about bringing in bass because it's taking minutes from nance who will be an exciting young player.

There is a fair argument for the Wolves core 3 of youngsters being possibly better than the Lakers, but there is also a strong argument that LA is going to have better players beyond those trios.

Which Minnesota trio do you mean?
Wiggins/Towns/Lavine or
Wiggins/Towns/Shabazz
