Small sample sizes and who is friends with who probably influence it more than anything. FWIW, back in 2010 Jonny Flynn trailed only Blake Griffin in the ROY, Who will have best career, and who is ready to contribute right away categories. In those categories Steph Curry placed 4th, 4th, and other.

Justin Anderson getting plenty of love. Wish we could've grabbed him.
Reminds me of Rodney Hood in last years draft.
I have a feeling both players will be quality starters on playoff teams down the road.

Kaminsky? Freaking Karl Towns is barely mentioned in this survey.

Meh... doesn't mean much to me.

At the end of the day, players have to walk the walk and prove themselves on the court. I think Russell has the potential to be the best player in the draft.

Hard to trust a vote when 90% of its participants have the intellectual ability of a 3rd grader. Actually I take that back, there are definitely 3rd graders out there smarter than guys like Cameron Payne.

Definitely was wishing we could have traded up to nab him (Anderson) draft day. I see no love for Norman Powell as a potential steal at 46. Thought he has more of an NBA game than college game like Hood in a way, who was in my top 10 last year. Good second-round gamble there.

They actually aren't that far off. Some of them (DRuss included) were in high school two years ago, so they are basically still kids.

Durant makes sense since he's arguably been the most lethal scorer since Kobe's decline.

I'm 22 yeard old and most of the people I know in the same age range have/had Kobe, Duncan, KG, Dirk, Nash, Shaq, Iverson, T-Mac as their favorite player. Then a couple of bandwagon fans went with LeBron. I just don't see how a three year difference from 22 to 19 or 18 can justify the gap between a lot of the guys mentioned above with Durant. What were these kids doing when they were 8-10 years old? That's basically when I and a lot of people I know determine their favorite player and team.

I guess the survey question was referring to a current player in the League so maybe fans of Nash, Shaq, Iverson, T-Mac, and maybe KG would pick a new favorite in the League and that's where the Durants of the world come in.

Well, when your sidekick gets voted 6th in 'best career' and your name doesn't appear once, not even in honorable mention...

I like how 7% thought Dekker would have the best career out of all the rookies, but none of them thought he was the biggest steal at 18.

So being a fan of Nash/Kobe/Shaq/T-Mac etc is okay but if you're a fan of Lebron it means you're a bandwagon fan. Good to know, bub. And it's good to know that decisions you made when you were 8-10 years old are set in stone, (lol... literally can't stop laughing at this notion) and kids who were out playing sports/weren't interested in the NBA (for any myriad of reasons) yet deserve to be looked down upon if by the time they did start watching they rooted for Lebron. Great stuff.

You have a lot of good points. Maybe it's just something that bugs me when I see fans of players and their age doesn't quite match up with who their favorite player is. Like let's say a 40 year old has LeBron as his favorite player. Like, didn't you grew up watching Magic, MJ, Bird, etc.? Usually things that you grow up with in sports, movies, music, etc. mean a lot more than the the more recent stuff.

Suggestion, don't come in here acting and responding to posts like that, you won't last. Tone it down a bit and you'll get respected a bit more.

lol i'll act how i want to. and there are plenty of reasons for anyone to root for anyone. a 40 y/o can't root for lebron? but you'd have no problem with a 40 y/o (there's probably plenty of 40+ y/os here who do) rooting for Kobe.

Not if the mods catch onto you.
