For what it's worth, Kobe's biggest obsticle is his age and with it his health. He'll never be twenty something again or play as if he was... _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team ! |

Could have kept playing through it? I don't remember that. I remember him talking to 2 different surgeons until he decided that surgery was the best course of action. I hope he's healthy, but we'll see... |
I'm not saying that he could have played through it, I just don't remember the recovery time frame necessarily being season-ending. But I just looked it up and apparently the recovery from surgery was projected to be 9 months. So ya, I just misremembered. |
You're correct. He could have played through it. He could have finished the season with it.
But it would have risked each time out there making it worse and if it got worse it'd be potentially not repairable.
And he probably could have returned from it in March and if we were fighting for a playoff spot they'd probably have let him.
But as it was even as bad as it was, he could have played through it for the rest of the season. They opted for surgery instead though to be on the safe side. |

I sure hope he can pull one last rabbit out of that hat. I wouldn't be surprised if he did. _________________ Maybe you think it's completely innocent. Maybe you don't. But there's no denying that what the rule book says means a lot less than what the NBA wants at any given moment. -Tim Donaghy |

Has Kobe even started shooting yet?
Still not seeing any indication he has. Coming off shoulder surgery, wouldn't that be a sign of progress?
As much as I would love to see a MVP Kobe, those days have passed. But as a Laker fan that has followed his career from day one. I would not be surprised if he had a greater impact then any of us are thinking as possible. He has made a career of taking taking slights and challenges and succeeding.
Even if he were to find the Fountain of Youth I can not imagine him being MVP. Too many other favorites play more mpg and will put up numbers he won't match IMO.
My wish for him this year is to go out with some grace and dignity. Maybe showing some leadership for 25-30mpg at most, playing with energy on defense, sharing the ball and avg 7-8 assts, being efficient on offense and shooting near career high percentages on less shots.
Now that I have completed my daydreaming.... has he started shooting yet? |

All of these predictions. For the real Laker fan we know Kobe will bring whatever he has left and leave it on the court. All of the fan and media predictions are comical. I will leave it like this, The world would be a better place if common sense was common especially for Laker fans!
Relax and enjoy whatever Kobe does because you want see a player like KB for a long time _________________ Winning is all that matters!! |

Damn I wonder if he will avoid launching from 3 as much and instead focus on posting up and mid range? I hope not becuase we are not going to be getting prolific three point shooting from the other wing either unless jc improves. |

Oh, wow. I had no idea that he had to stay that long without shooting.
No wonder we haven't heard much from him. _________________ Lakers win record when Kobe goes for 40+ points

If he takes his time and not let the competitor in him get the best of his better judgement. he's got to trust his teammates to carry the load, then go get that rabbit. _________________ "If you see me in a fight with a bear, prey for the bear". Is kobe's Achilles and his knee's fine? Don't see any recent reports on these topics. We're the Achilles and knees slowing him down last season? I forget _________________ Billions Billions Billions |

Dunno for sure but he said that his legs are real strong, so I suspect he's been working on it.
Last year was horrible due to the achilles and knee injuries. Without a good base on your legs, your shots will be off. Hopefully now with his stronger legs, he'll have a good base to start knocking down the shots. |

I'm with you. This squad will be slept on and no one will see it coming. Start placing your bets now as it seems like the odds are stacked against us but there is no reason we can't squeak into the 8 spot or even 7th. We all know scoring was not our problem, yet we have improved in that department. It was our porous defense which is obviously bolstered up with Hibbert and a healthy Randal in the mix. Yes my friends, don't believe the hype, sit back, relax, and watch as we prove the haters wrong this time. "Common sense is not common" |

He won't be a MVP player this year. But LMAO if you say he wasn't the best player in the league at various points in his career, especially when he won the MVP. Try harder. Sorry. Troll harder. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Kobe was never the MVP. He was rarely the 2nd best player in the league, either, if ever. |
Uh, nope |
