They're probably setting Strand up to be this show's version of Shane, which means he likely won't be around very long.

Well they better find a Rick soon in their group or they'll all die soon after Strand goes.

I wonder if it's too late to reboot this show with a new cast. The whole family is so annoying. After what they did to that family on the island I'm hoping the mother is the first one killed off.

Despite its low ratings, it looks like AMC has already renewed it for a third season.

This.

I wished this show took place more in the thick of the outbreak, like the beginning of World War Z and Dawn of the Dead. Show them trying to get through the cities and all the mayhem around them.

The ratings are pretty good though. 3.1 for the premiere. That's very good for a cable show. In fact, that's better than most broadcast shows. It's not as high as TWD, but no show is.

But yeah, the family is annoying and the show is boring. The whole time I'm watching it I'm wondering why the hell I'm watching it.

I actually enjoyed last night's episode. I don't really find the adults annoying. I think they seem realistic.

The kids on the other hand... ugh...

I hope FTWD does a good job of being bold and killing off main characters. All the teenage angst is annoying.

Almost. Last week's episode was pretty good but last night's episode just had me smh again.

It's fortunate for FTWD there's not a whole lot of competition on Sunday night other than GoT.

I'm still watching. I don't know why. This is clearly a cash grab. Cheap sets, cheap, mostly unknown actors and they must be using budget writers as well.

What is this show even.

Seriously. What is this (bleep)? How can you make a show more boring than TWD?

that whole strand arc seemed super forced... and took away the mystique of Stand.. too bad.. because the show had potential.

biggest mistake this series did was fly by the whole outbreak stage of the apocalypse. More screen time could have been shown where stuff hits the fan but world is not yet completely over-run by zombies. The entire first season could have been the family facing survival against zombies and impending anarchy before the whole military safe zone came up.

I agree. When this show was first announced I was looking forward to seeing the characters dealing with the beginnings of the apocalypse. However, they sped through it in about 2-3 episodes. Maybe it was just too expensive to keep shooting scenes of utter chaos unfolding.

I had completely forgotten about this show. I tried a few episodes but it felt forced. I stopped watching after some episode where there was someone flashing a light or something in some distant house. Episode three maybe?

The characters were simply annoying.

Every episode I hate Madison and Chris a little more. I guess Strand must be a good guy if he continues to put up with Madison. I don't know WTF that was about with Chris.

Anyone else irritated by the exchange scene? She was by herself with no weapon and Connor has someone else with him in their territory. Why wouldn't he just shoot her, keep Travis and take his brother back?

I was more irritated by why zombie-Reed conveniently decided to stop making those horrible growling noises while the exchange was taking place.

Did anybody watch last night? Did this new lady Ceclia poison all the people in the church? Why did she do this? Chris and Daniel are going crazy! Next week is the mid season finale. lol

yeah that was so dumb. Why the hell wouldnt the mom have a gun? She couldnt possibly expect that she could just hand them the zombie hostage and be able to make it out of there without a gun fight. But oh wait didnt she have gun as she was getting on the raft?? Then that begs the bigger question as to why the hell didnt she use it. And then obviously Connor's group should have had a guns as well.
Also I must say almost all the action scenes so far have been extremely sloppy and dont look believable.

She did have a gun, and I thought that it would have been a more effective scene if she used it.

I think we also have to remember that this is just a few weeks after the apocalypse. We're what... 3 months in? People are dealing with it, but a lot of the killing and gunplay is probably still new to them. Even the villains.

I thought it was plausible that the bad guys would be caught off guard when their good buddy/brother was a zombie. There would be shock, denial, and grief at the same time. But after a few seconds, you'd think that one of them would get their bearings. Especially if they see the other two get munched. The third guy should have used a gun.

But more importantly, Maddie should have used her gun. While the brother was munching, that was the opportunity to walk right up and cap the third guy.

Like you said, it's still early in the apocalypse. This group hasn't become hardened like the survivors in TWD.

What are they going to do about psycho boy Chris?

Looking forward to seeing that new AMC series Preacher which starts this Sunday right after the mid-season finale of FTWD.

This might be where I jump off. None of what the characters do in this series make any sense. I honestly don't know what they were going for with this series.
