I think the Lakers used up all thier luck points getting to number 2 last year. HIGHLY doubt we get lucky again this year.
How about if we finish Bottom 3?
Still no guarantee of top 3.
Worst record-guaranteed at least 4th pick
2nd: 5th pick
3rd: 6th pick.
Theoretically 3 teams can jump in from the lotto, but that never happens.
I know it's a Lottery but Bottom 3 finish requires far less luck than what we got last season.
Sure. But last year was also the worst Lakers season ever since coming to LA. And that required us leaping over NY to get to #2. So would really need to finish with worst record but 76ers look like they'll take that, with Nets close by. So probably 3rd worst record is most attainable. Yikes. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

I think we're pretty bad right now especially considering we have yet to play a playoff team. _________________ We back.

Mavs, really weak 8th seed but they can beat high seeded teams any given day due to Carlise and Dirk.

I rather figure out / see what Mark Madsen has in him, as a Coach on the NBA level, than to continue to watch Coach Chaos. Madsen doesn't necessarily deserve to be a/the interim HC. But, Byron has worked himself, into a Firing, period. Let the players breathe, and then go from there.
Russell is getting used to NBA game and starts being a factor now, even in the closing minutes.
Randle is doing more than driving to the basket. He starts to control the board and plays defense, starts being a team player.
Clarkson is a very good player. He is already the best player, best scoring threat of the team, but he obeys to coach's assignment.
We start the season from giving 110+ points and lossing in double digits easily, to give up about 100 point and stay very close for most of the game. We still need to work how to close a game, but the progress as a team is promising.
MWP is the changer. He domostrates to our youths how to be a factor off the ball.
Nance is a steal.
The veterans, Williams, Young, Bass and even Hibbert and Kobe didn't show any improvement yet.
With knowing more and more about the players, hopefully coach Scott can find a way/identity to the team.
It's just 9 games into the seasons. The progress is really promising with many rookies and new comers. Hope we can find a way to win as other teams are also improving.
American heroes who foiled Paris train attack to be honored at Lakers v. Pistons game
Quote:
Three men who foiled a terrorist attack on a train in Paris in August will be]honored at Staples Center during tonight’s Laker game against the Detroit Pistons.
Spencer Stone, Alek Skarlatos and Anthony Sadler -- all friends since boyhood -- became American heroes when they charged and subdued a gunman on a train Aug. 21. During some media events after foiling the attack, Sadler was photographed wearing a Lakers T-shirt.
All three men will attend tonight’s game and will be honored on court during a brief ceremony. They are also expected to speak to the media before the game, along with Lakers President Jeanie Buss.

Currently tied with the Pelicans for the 3rd worst record in the league with a 1-8 record. Here's the odds:
16% chance of getting the first pick
16% chance of getting the second pick
16% chance of getting the third pick
23% chance of getting the fourth pick
27% chance of getting the fifth pick
4% chance of getting the sixth pick

so... only 48% chance of retaining pick and 54% chance of losing pick... math don't add up but if we gonna lose, do it right... let's get another stud rookie

By tomorrow night we will be 1-10 & place
We will b competiting for worst spot with philly.
Nets/pelicans will start winning soon
Gotta keep Bass healthy for our off against philly on Dec. 1.
We'll need him at the Center spot, if we want to "win" that game. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”
Would Rudy T. have been the perfect coach for this team? To clarify, the 2004 Rudy T. Of course, it's a shame his health didn't allow him to continue. But he was a man before his time, no? _________________ Smrek 2, Nevitt 1, Barkley 0
Team is absolutely terrible and they have played mostly non-playoff teams on the schedule so far....its gonna be brutal to watch once they play some actual teams that are contending.
