Antonio Davis back to the Raptors?

Interesting - I think this actually makes the Raptors better defensively.

As for the Knicks/Thomas - Same old, Same old.

Get yet another huge contract perimeter player. They only have

Marbury
Hardaway
Crawford
Richardson

(That's 35+ million with 4 players and adding Rose makes it 50 million for just perimeter players)

Only the Knicks can use up the entire salary cap on 5 players all of whom are not all-stars.

Wow that's an interesting trade, how much longer does Rose have on his contract? The knicks payroll is just insane

Not really.

They want defense inside. They lose many games despite scoring 100+.

They are the softest team in the NBA inside with Bosh and (and take your pick of Bonner/Villanueva)

With Graham and Eric Williams - they actually need a C much more than Rose.

Ofcourse, longterm this move means nothing. AD is a FA very soon. He will probably go to one of the Florida teams in Free Agency.

they have a better defender in davis but as you said, he is a FA soon and they lose a good scorer in rose. who is gonna score points for this team? this trade doesn't make them any better.

Pointless trade for the Knicks they aren't going anywhere and they add on more salary. At least it seems they get a pick out of it. And on Toronto's end eh!

Yeah, I forgot that !

Davis was traded to Chicago in the deal that brought Rose to Toronto.

But at the time, the move was made for Vince. Carter wanted someone to help him on the perimeter.

That worked out well

That's the thing. Rose scores points, but even when he does they lose.

They get some really good scoring at times from Bosh, James and Mo Pete. Villanueva off the bench has been really solid.

So they can put up good points without Rose. They are like us towards the end of the season last year. They don't stop anybody .....

I've got an idea...

Let's try to swipe Crawford away offering George, Cook or Sasha ( 2nd rounder) or a deal of George and Slava and the Miami first rounder

Then we Offer Minnesota a package of Odom, Crawford, Kwame, 2 future 1st rounders for

KG and Ricky Davis.

This deal is simply the Knicks paying 16 mil to get a 1st round pick back after dealing so many to Chicago in the Curry deal.

good trade for the knicks. Davis salary was coming off next year, they would have still been well over.

now they get rose comes off when a lot of other come off to get them down to 49 mil. next year they have a lot of contrats coming off.

they also get #1.

nm raps did very good.

Knicks are going to need more than a first round pick the way they are going they are gonna have a pretty high pick anyways and it's hard to say how deep this draft will be, if I were a knick fan thomas would drive me crazy

this was great for toronto because they are well below the cap next year with this. it's like 17 mil coming off the books.

bad for laker fans beacuse they can use that money and get someone else by bosh. great great trade for them. great move, and well worth a 1st rounder
