Jeremy Lin says security wouldn’t let him into Hornets arena
After a disappointing season with the Lakers, Jeremy Lin is about to begin his first year with the Charlotte Hornets. So far it’s not off to a great start: the sixth-year guard tweeted that security at Time Warner Cable Arena didn’t recognize him when he went to check out his new home court:
On the one hand, as the only Asian American player in the league, Lin doesn’t look like other NBA players. In a vacuum, it would be an easy enough mistake to make. But it’s not like Jeremy Lin is anonymous or unknown. He was a worldwide phenomenon three years ago and is still massively popular, even if the rest of his career hasn’t lived up to the brief “Linsanity” era with the Knicks. You can’t blame him for being frustrated.
It's been a while since the Linsanity days, not surprised that he got MikePenberthy'd in Charlotte.
Last time I saw him at a Dfenders game where he casually walked in and took a seat in the general seating area. No one bothered him for an autograph or a selfie while he was there, he probably thought it was a nice change of pace to retain some anonymity. Might also be a sign of things going forward.
Think he still gets hordes of media following him whenever he's able to visit Asia. As long as he has a decent run in Charlotte, he'll probably continue to score the sponsor deals.
Naturally this was kobe's fault since he was afraid Jeremy would overshadow him. He called hornets security the day before and told them not to let Lin in

If I were an average, unremarkable PG, I would sign a one year deal with any team coached by Mike D'Antoni. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
Actually now that I think about it, this reeks of desperation by Michael Jordan. Ever since linsanity Jordan knew that the only danger to his brand and legacy was Jeremy Lin. He's been secretly plotting to destroy Lin and orchestrating moves behind the scenes. Now that he has Lin on his team he can tell the coaches not to play him and his plan will be complete!
Well, thats to be expected....he plays in a small market team with a pretty unremarkable history, so most people probably have no idea who is on the team...if anything it will keep his crazy fans away, not many of his fans will travel to Charlotte just to see him play.

Problem is no NBA teams want to hire him as a head coach anymore since his last 2 coaching stints were disasters. He should thank his lucky stars Steve Nash saved his coaching career.

Best guard in Charlotte _________________ I believe everything the media tells me except for anything for which I have direct personal knowledge, which they always get wrong
Granted, there aren’t many players of Asian descent in the NBA, and it’s not like Jeremy Lin is 6-foot-10, but still: Come on, guys.
In a Q&A with the New York Post, Lin (who is now a Brooklyn Net) said that despite having played in the NBA for six seasons, including a year in which he became a global phenomenon with a nickname and everything, Jeremy Lin still gets stopped and asked for credentials as he walks into NBA arenas with his teammates.
I still get stopped when I try to go through away arenas and stuff, and I’m walking with my teammates, and obviously none of them are Asian but I’m the only one that gets stopped, and they ask for my credentials, stuff like that. “Hey, we need your credentials,” or “Are you part of the team?” Stuff like that. But I really don’t let it affect me. … I’m so used to it now. It doesn’t bother me.
Lin averaged 11.7 points and 4.4 assists per game for the Charlotte Hornets last season while not exactly trying to blend into a crowd.
"Hey, it's that Sulu guy. I just went and saw your movie!"
John Cho is bad ass! I loved his threat to Kahn in the 2nd Star Trek.
Jeremy Lin, on the other hand, I don't care about. He once thought that he was bigger than Kobe. And for those who don't believe that, go ahead and find his interview about the Lakers and Kobe when he was still on the Knicks. He said "When they asked me about Kobe, I wanted to say 'Kobe Who?' "
I didn't care about Lin when he was with the Knicks, I didn't care about him when he was with the Lakers, and I don't care about him now either.
