Quote: | MWP laments the lack of toughness in the NBA
1 min ago – via Los Angeles Times
After the team’s light practice Saturday, World Peace gave his take on today’s NBA. “I remember I came into the NBA in 1999, the game was a little bit more rough. The game now is more for kids. It’s not really a man’s game anymore,” World Peace said. “The parents are really protective of their children. They cry to their AAU coaches. They cry to the refs, ‘That’s a foul. That’s a foul.’ “Sometimes I wish those parents would just stay home, don’t come to the game, and now translated, these same AAU kids whose parents came to the game, ‘That’s a foul.’ These kids are in the NBA. So now we have a problem. You’ve got a bunch of babies professionally around the world.”

Russell, Bass, Huertas considered doubtful for Sunday’s game vs. Maccabi Haifa
By Mark Medina, LA Daily News
Quote: | All three players completed practice on Saturday without any noticeable limitations.
But the Lakers have listed rookie point guard D’Angelo Russell, veteran point guard Marcelo Huertas and power forward Brandon Bass as doubtful to play in Sunday’s game against Maccabi Haifa at Staples Center. |

When the starters are in, I guess Kobe is going to have to initiate the offense when Clarkson doesn't.
I liked how Kobe was primarily off ball when DLO and Clarkson were healthy. But it's just one preseason game. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

DLo and Huertas needs to play on Tues. They've been held out long enough. |

Wow I was really looking forward to watching D'Angelo play today, this is definitely a bummer. That fall didn't look hard, and he is just 19 he should be able to recover faster than he's showing _________________ #mamba4ever! |

Could be worse... Rose has a broken face and Kyrie is missing months of regular season already. _________________ "There's only 2 dudes better than me, and I'm BOTH OF THEM." |

I like the idea of trying Brown in the starting lineup since he's supposed to be able to defend and the combination we had out on the floor last game clearly wasn't working in terms of perimeter defense. |

One of my hopes for this season is that the coaches find 9 or 10 guys who will be in the rotation and stick with it. Guys need to know what their role is when they will play. It helps the entire team to mesh with each other and learn each others tendencies. If I have to go through another season of random line ups I might shoot my TV. |

Wouldn't hurt to sit Hibbert out a game. We know what we're getting from him & he seems to be in great shape. Open up PT for Upshaw, Holmes,Black...Sacre _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Cousins will be the best big man that we face all pre-season so it'd be interesting to see how he plays against him. Lakers have been pretty cautious about injuries this pre-season so we'll see. |

It is pre-season. I do not care who the opponent is. I would have no issue with Hibbert getting the night off. He has made the team. He has established his role.
Now is the time to work out the back-up center position. Let Sacre and Upshaw battle it out with Cousins. Can either separate himself from the other? Perhaps Black gets some run but IMO he has also established himself as the small ball center. |

I wouldn't mind if Hibbert sat out the next game but I'd like him to play for a few minutes to start so he can continue to develop some chemistry with the starters especially if Byron is going to insert D'Lo back into the starting lineup. _________________ My Dream Starting 5 next Season
