Meta and Julius really going at each other in practice. Meta is impressing Mitch, not sure what the final say will be regarding Meta. Mitch thinks he would be helpful with the younger players.

Mitch also mentioned that they want to keep their options open, he mentioned Upshaw in this regards so they don't want to "burn their bridges" so to speak (that's my phrase).

"If there's a player that clearly outplays a player on a guarantee...we have to sit down and see what we can do. I think ownership would give us the flexibility to what we need to do."

Upshaw gives the Lakers quote: "the flexibility to waive a player". Wow, Upshaw sounds like he's impressing the Lakers.

Cap space by itself does nothing to improve the roster. Mitch & company need to do a much, much better sell job then they did this past off-season. With the current youngsters a couple of superstars like Durant and maybe DeRozan would be HUGE to getting back to greatness.

Mitch Kupchak will speak with the media today at 1:00pm PT.

Stream it live on http://Lakers.com

Thanks for the post.

No prob

What I found out is what I needed to do is click on the picture and then it took me to the same webpage as the other link posted in the thread that worked in both cases at that point.

Why don't they provide mics for the media?

That would sure be nice.

Half the time I'm trying to guess at who's the topic based on whatever context I can figure out.

TWC just cut off the press conference!!! They cannot be serious!!!

They are on 24/7 with nothing but repeats of their hackneyed Lakers Top 10 this that or the other, or Backstage Whoever, and then they have a live presser with the GM of the team which happens, what, a couple of times a year, and they can't be bothered to carry the entire event??!!

I guess they have to keep the air time clear for the 5,749th airing of Lakers Top 10 Peanut Vendors.

Good grief. Pathetic.

But he said the players would enjoy what he provides on the court. And at the age of 32 he doesn't represent a threat to the two youngsters in the back-court. And as a veteran he doesn't have to worry about his commitment on the court. I think because of his "veteran" leadership" and that Mitch likes how he will make a primary effort to share the ball with other players he will most likely make the team from what I can tell.

But yes, Mitch did make it clear he has to earn making the roster.

Yes, he said they will have more than any other team in the NBA. He said others will have a lot too, but not as much as the Lakers. That's good to hear.
