There's a thread for this: http://forums.lakersground.net/viewtopic.php?t=175017

And we were all discussing whether we want him back or not.

without knowing if they can/will dump sacre and Kelly I put no. If they dump those two for Artest and Upshaw I'd be fin with that...

actually that sounds like a volatile combination now that I type it out

I tried finding that thread before I posted this one. But now it seems that MWP may actually work out a deal. Who knows

If you can sync all his minutes with Kobe I think it makes some sense.

Do not want him slowing down the young guys, or just taking up a roster space to "mentor".

I'll say it and move on; stupid choice. He could never jump but now he's lost many steps....hack would be his alternative and he could never shot...

Terrible IF true...

We need someone to be more offensively inefficient than Kobe so that nobody can say Kobe is the most inefficient player on the team.

Rather have him as a coach/consultant. Signing some old washed up player over Upshaw looks ridiculous.

The FO likes his chemistry with J. Randle. Maybe he could become JR's tutor or something instead of taking a roster spot.

some must have very bad memories. He looked very bad in his last years. Add on a couple more years of age to that and I dont even want to imagine.

Frankly, I thought he looked bad the year they won the championship with him. Despite that he had moments of noticeable impact, even in his final season here. That and his personality are what he would probably bring.

People just like him because of that big three he hit in Game 7 against the Celtics. His defense against Pierce was completely average and his offense was absolutely abysmal.

Not to mention that he's going on 80 in NBA time. Maybe they'll bring him into camp in a mentorship role.

He's an old school thug. If Riley was still coaching he'd take him too. Of course Byron wants him.

After he took a pay cut to join for the MLE, and help with a title, I'd bring him in just for that. Add in the fact he has NBA experience, and can play a mentorship role, sounds good to me. It's not like he's gonna play major minutes. Unless Bryon Scott sees something we don't.

Whats the worst that can happen?....

Metta and Randle have been spending a lot of time in the gym together – Lakers like the relationship/impact thus from from MWP

I'm told from a league source close to Metta World Peace that there's confidence a deal with the Lakers will happen

We could just use him for 6 hard fouls against guys like KD, LeBron, Anthony Davis, oh and especially James Hardent.

If Metta knows his role, would be a good signing. I hope he has the perspective to pull it off. May e he could help Roy with mental issues as well (Roy mentioned he looked up to Ron for that).

He could definitely help Roy & Randle in some form or fashion whether it is as a player, coach or consultant.
