According to Adrian Wojnarowski: Metta World Peace has begun to workout daily at the Lakers’ facility, and is inching closer to a return on a one-year deal.

We need someone to be more offensively inefficient than Kobe so that nobody can say Kobe is the most inefficient player on the team. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

Frankly, I thought he looked bad the year they won the championship with him. Despite that he had moments of noticeable impact, even in his final season here. That and his personality are what he would probably bring.

People just like him because of that big three he hit in Game 7 against the Celtics. His defense against Pierce was completely average and his offense was absolutely abysmal. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

Not to mention that he's going on 80 in NBA time. Maybe they'll bring him into camp in a mentorship role.

He's an old school thug. If Riley was still coaching he'd take him too. Of course Byron wants him.
After he took a pay cut to join for the MLE, and help with a title, I'd bring him in just for that. Add in the fact he has NBA experience, and can play a mentorship role, sounds good to me. It's not like he's gonna play major minutes. Unless Bryon Scott sees something we don't.
This is about Julius Randle folks . . . a teammate can mentor differently than a coach https://t.co/CgjyfrCnav

Metta and Randle have been spending a lot of time in the gym together – Lakers like the relationship/impact thus from from MWP

I'm told from a league source close to Metta World Peace that there's confidence a deal with the Lakers will happen
If Metta knows his role, would be a good signing. I hope he has the perspective to pull it off. May e he could help Roy with mental issues as well (Roy mentioned he looked up to Ron for that).

He could definitely help Roy & Randle in some form or fashion whether it is as a player, coach or consultant.
