George, more than a year removed from surgery on his broken right leg, told ESPN.com on Thursday that he "isn't too thrilled" about changing positions but is "open" to make the change if it's what's best for the team.

On some nights he'll hate it because he'll have to defend bigger guys, and get into FT or beat up. OTOH, if he can avoid that, he'll have a huge speed advantage.

The key for them wouldn't be George playing 4, it would be as a unit what other pieces do they have to compliment that change. Do they have an athletic anchor? A wing that can interchange with George? Guards that can stay infront of their man on the ball?

Mostly the reason for this change seems to about O. But with Jordan Hill as their Center, I don't see their D improving one bit, instead taking a huge nose dive.

Agree completely- especially about losing his talents on other parts of the floor. It could work to their advantage in stretches against certain teams, but they have to be careful not to overdo it or risk wearing him down.

Agreed, their defense won't be what it once was. Jordan Hill will rebound but he'll continue to play his usual awful defense. Implementing small ball won't be as easy as they might think. But I'm sure they have a plan.

I could see making him change positions to accommodate a star player... But CJ Miles? That's like the equivalent of making someone change positions to accommodate Luke Walton. Just bench the scrub.

You don't start PG at the 4 when your starting center is Ian Mahinmi.

I anticipate seeing little or no wisdom demonstrated in that move. Where's the net benefit to the team gonna come from, of moving one's most effective, creative player out of his natural position (wing, facilitator) ? To make room for a journeyman ? Does Miles have that kinda upside ? Hmmm. No. No. NO.

Common sense is to build playing rotations around one's best player first and foremost, and make the other pieces fit to his strengths. If Miles is their second best player and Monta is too expensive to bring off the bench, they would seem stronger to bring Hill off the bench instead and keep Paul-G out in front most of the time instead.

Are they really starting Jordan Hill?

Turner should be their starting C by the halfway mark then haha.
