Oubre showcasing his elite pick pocket ability that I've always spoke about. 3 super impressive steals.

Also crazy to see what Anthony Davis did in the one preseason game Ive seen highlights of - an off the dribble call off a screen 3pointer, and a coast to coast skilled drive. Already more wing skills displayed there than basically his whole career, IMO. We'll see if that continues in the season, if so I will be his biggest fan.

Scouting via YouTube clips has its risks.

He had 22/5/3 tonight.

Actually most of LG had him pegged as an unknown since we didn't see anything of him.

Mudiay already worked out with the Lakers. FO didn't bring him back for the second workout.

He improved his mid-range game tremendously in a short amount of time. That opened up his PnR play.

But, I can't exactly fault the FO when Okafor was outshooting Mudiay in pre-draft workouts.

It's not like Mudiay didn't have his chance to stick with the Lakers.

There also isn't a team in the league that would have taken Mudiay at #2.

Not just that. NYK and the 76ers needed a PG. They passed on him too.

I totally get it. A fan really likes a particular player, and you want that guy to be a Laker. But he isn't. That has happened to me A LOT since what, 2001?

But I can't feel bad if they hurt their own workout to actually wake the team up and say, "Draft me #2" with a blow out workout.

At least Mudiay had a chance. You know who is outplaying ALL of the point guards the entire preseason?

Joe Young. And the Lakers didn't give him a look. And they had multiple chances to draft him.

I think Rozier is doing better than Young. At least based on the box scores.

I forwarded through that game on league pass. He was actually mindblowingly awful. I don't think any of the Youtube commenters actually watched it.

Inside shots not drawing rim. Straight up stuffed on a jump hook. Turnovers galore. On the other end no resistance to Lopez at all. One play he was backed to under the backboard.

He would actually look much better if he stuck to being the cleanup man and finisher offensively rather than trying to post up. Right now he's trying to be something he's not ready for yet.

Yeah, he went 5-13 overall which is about as dismal as can be for a big that's actually getting touches.

I haven't watched much Okafor. He's wearing number 8...can you imagine if he tried to wear that number as a Laker? Lol!

Paul George looks like his skills have progressed, advanced dribble moves, and his jumper's money - even herky jerky shots. from the minutes I've seen this pre-season, he looks like he's primed to take the leap into the top 5 player category - as congested as the back end of that list is - he could be in there with the likes of Harden, Westbrook, Curry. Ahead of a Blake Griffin.
