I like the idea and surprised it didn't happen sooner but a large part of why it was successful was the buddy cop chemistry of Mel Gibson/Danny Glover. Not sure you can really match it.

Quote:
A Lethal Weapon hourlong series based on the films that starred Mel Gibson and Danny Glover has landed at Fox with a put pilot commitment. It will be written by former Chuck executive producer Matt Miller.

Like the Rush Hour series, Lethal Weapon is a relatively straight remake featuring the movies’ central characters, Roger Murtaugh, who was played by Glover, and Martin Riggs, who was played by Gibson.

On the Lethal Weapon show, when Texas cop and former Navy SEAL Martin Riggs moves to Los Angeles to start anew after the loss of his wife and baby. There, he gets partnered with LAPD Detective Roger Murtaugh, who, having recently suffered a “minor” heart attack, must avoid any stress in his life.

Could be worth watching, though the chemistry between the 2 leads would have a hard time matching the original Riggs & Murtaugh.

If I learned anything from those movies, it's how to properly reinsert a dislocated shoulder.

I've been thinking of casting. I came up with two that would be comparable.

Joe Morton Roger Murtaugh.

Dennis Quaid Martin Riggs

Suggestions?

Bring back Danny Glover.
Then I'll really believe him when he says, "I'm getting to old for this (bleep)".

If it is going to be on FOX, you can count on them getting two nobody's that are also aweful actors and the show will MAYBE last one season...

If it was A&E, it would be a hit...

don't get too excited...
