I like the way Phil used to not care about preseason games until the last 2 where he emphasizes that the team should win those games and he plays the lineups we would see during the regular season in those last 2 games and scrubs that won't make the team gets cut. I hope Byron would do the same _________________ My Dream Starting 5 next Season

Phil's teams if I remember correctly had pretty bad pre season records also.
That said, the Lakers have something to prove every time they step on the court, summer league, pre season, whatever. Yes they need to win a couple games this preseason, it's important.

i'd love for the rookies to click and we go out there and dominate while they are playing. i won't be worried if they go out and continue to not play well, but it would be nice to see some progress.
For a relatively young team who will have 22 of their first 33 games on the road I'd say it's more important than usual. Obviously the manner in which they play is more important, but a few preseason wins will do good for their confidence
Not too important to win, but it is important to show growth. If the lakers continue to suck as they did with the jazz thats going to be bad for the rest of the season.

They played the Jazz almost dead even until the 4th quarter collapse so lets not pretend it was a "blowout" because of the score.
Fairly Important due to that 0-8 preseason with Mike Brown. I just want at least 3 wins depending on how much time our starters/main rotation guys play. _________________

I'm pretty sure there were years where we sucked it up in preseason, then won a championship.

0-8 Preseason? I don't think so but show your facts if I'm wrong. _________________

If Upshaw was playing instead of Sacre we might have gotten the win. I don't know why Byron keeps trotting out Sacre out there. He's barely an NBA player.

I agree completely, I knew the game was lost once Sacre stepped on the court.
For me not important at all. I must admit i didnt even look at the scoreboard in these two games. Hard to believe but its true.
I want to see them playing as a team and to see progress for Randle, Clarkson and DLO. Also it would be great to see some minutes for Upshaw. Just to see what he can do.
Wins give you some energy and positive vibes no matter what. Whether it counts or not, you're winning. To have that energy carry into the beginning of the regular season would be real nice. Especially with the younger guys, I'd imagine it feed their hunger to wanting more.
So while it's not very important, there's still a certain amount of importance that I believe, matters.

The Lakers need to show that they can win games period. Because we were not good the last several years I would like to see how the team performs against real competition. Somebody has to win the pre seasons games, I would rather win the games than lose the games. This team needs confidence and belief that they can win. _________________ .....
