It's somewhat respectable when Hibbert's in the game, at least, the interior defense(expectedly), and then it drops off huge once he subs out. Sucks. |

In the East, yes this team is talented enough to win 35-40 games and make the playoffs.
In the West? Even the best coach in the league currently, Pop, would be hard pressed to get this team to win more than half their games. Byron's par should be 30 wins. Anything less and he's underachieved. 30-35 is about par. 35-40 is very solid. 40+ Byron should be in COTY talk.
And that's exactly why I think we're likely in the 30-35 win window (as Byron rarely does better than par with the talent he has). |
Kobe, Huertas and perhaps MWP won't have the legs - stamina to chase shooters on the perimeter all night.
Clarkson, Russel and a rookie SF are lacking enough NBA experience to be good defenders.
Williams and Young are on the roster for offense, not defense.
Until the roster evolves to something more balanced, it will be difficult to make the Playoffs. |
