I know he would be somewhat redundant, but if we could lure him to the Lakers, I say we do it! He was use to coming off the bench anyway and the thing about Tristan is that he can be a rebounding machine!

He's a 4 but big enough to allow us to play small ball with 3 forwards and he can man the five. I would actually like him better in the backup role over Sacre or Upshaw at this moment.

I think we need to shore up the defensive side of the ball and Tristan could definitely help us on with defensive rebounds! We lack some fillers in the middle defensively after Hibbert takes a seat and then there's no one to fill the gap and grab those boards...

As stated, Randle and Thompson might be somewhat redundant, but I honestly think their youth and athletic ability could allow them to play multiple positions as well as being on the floor together...

Thompson is more than capable of playing 5 and 4. He's a much better defender or defensive presence than Randle. I think the two could easily play together. Randle would carry more burden on O, Thompson on D.

But TT to me isn't even a starter on a contender, he's more like a great 6th man or 1st big off the bench. Or he's a supporting big man, playing next to a star big/front court player. Such as Randle could be in a few years.

I like Thompson's game a lot as a supportive player, although I'm not sure about the finances of whether paying him a max or not is smart.

Dang wolfpacker if your summary hadn't been so on point I might be able to say something original ...I too believe he and Randle could function real well together on the one condition we all stake Randle's ceiling on: his ability to hit that jumper with a fair degree of consistency.

Julius has shown elite foot speed & quickness. If he hits that j consistently his foot speed and quickness will allow us to use him at the 3, 4, and small ball 5. TT would then allow us to be dominant on the boards at the 4 and 5 while maintaining 2 strong dudes on the floor most of the time.

But, as WP noted, do you pay a guy who is essentially a specialist, max money? Probably depends on the other pieces we intend to have around him.
