The Nye County Sheriff's Department was called at about 3:15 p.m. to Love Ranch in Crystal, Nevada about 70 miles outside of Las Vegas for a report of an unresponsive man needing an ambulance, Sheriff Sharon A. Wehrly said in a statement.

Odom was stabilized and taken to Desert View Hospital in nearby Pahrump, the statement said. Officials then tried to have him airlifted to Las Vegas, but he was too tall for the helicopter that was available and he was driven by ambulance to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

There was no further word on Odom's condition.

How? He never wanted to leave the Lakers and management wanted to get rid of him? Nevertheless, I think him getting hooked up with a Kardashian and their lifestyle probably began his downward spiral.

Ultimately, every adult is responsible for their own fate. Having said that, their are certain individuals that are more vulnerable to bad situations. Whitney is responsible for addiction you can claim and Bobby did not kill her. However, she needed to be extra sheltered away from the high life and partying and Bobby exposed her to the wrong world.

Kardashians and thei party life was the absolute worst environment for someone as vulnerable as Lamar. I don't blame them if anything were to happen to Lama but hell yes he'd have been better off never meeting them.

Hope he makes it okay. Dude seems like a genuinely great guy.

Hope he pulls through. But not surprising at all considering you'd need extra strength herbal Viagra to bed that cow of a Kardashian.

Whitney's brother introduced her to cocaine. She was snorting up Peru long before she ever met Bobby Brown.

Lamar has been around drugs and people who did them his whole life. His lifelong friend was a hardcore addict and leech who regularly leveraged their relationship to keep his supply flushed. Y'all act like Lamar was a frickin hermit before the Kardashians. Nothing could be further from the truth. He lived in the clubs. He was always a good times guy.

This really has nothing to do with stern, even if he was traded to NO, he still wouldn't be happy

Really sad to hear. One of the most down to earth and humble superstar athletes that I've met. Every time I spoke to him, he was very engaging and friendly. I'm sure he was like that with everyone. Definitely one of my favorite Laker ever. Hope God gives him another chance to get his life together and do positive things.

To be honest, you can say the lakers along with the Kardashians destroyed him, but again, if he is mentally tougher....

Thoughts and prayers L.O. As others have said though not surprising, Lamar's been surrounded by terribly tragic situations throughout his life..

Yeah, LO definitely had many faults, especially the drugs issues. You can't blame that on anyone but yourself. An addict is an addict. The Kardashians only hurt the cause, but LO was always going to find his way to drugs because life seemingly just dealt him so many tough blows. If not for what happened with the Kardashians or Lakers, something else likely triggers it in the future with him. I've always been confused as to how what seemingly strikes you as a great guy can't seem to realize how much his kids probably love him and want him around. I know he's had a lot of losses, but there's 2 kids he's still got that he should try to fight for.

That said, from anyone I've ever known to been around him, they've all said fabolous things about him. Even Tex Winter, I recall him saying that in all years he's been around NBA players he never saw a player like Lamar. And it wasn't fake for the cameras or only when things are going good nice. It was genuine. Was a time where the D league team was at Staples and he saw them after their game, realized they didn't have food or something (post game meal) and took both teams out to a resto. They were just a manner and way in which he did things you felt he was genuinely nice.

Someone tweeted this about LO coming to visit his sick kid just like that, without any media or any notice.

Real shame if this is it for LO, but that's life. I hope he gets a 2nd chance, but who knows if he even gets his (bleep) together.

I think LO would have been OK if he hadn't complained and been traded to Dallas.

He'd been sixth man of the year and thought, as did I, he should have gotten a better deal.

I don't think he thought things would turn out as they did. He was on a roll and doing well. The trade set him back and he never recovered.

The Bunny Ranch.

Get well LO.
