Or they are just saying that and he finally got some good HGH in him because he knows he won't be tested for a while. Haha, I kid. |

It's $2.5M more than what I would pay Lincecum. He's done. |
1st start in a year plus .. Lincecum goes 6 innings 4 hits and 2 k's
He doesn't have the fastball anymore but he did a great job of location and mixing in his off-speed pitches _________________ #11/08/16 America became GREAT again

Great, it's looking like one of those 'insurmountable' one run deficits. |

Ugly win, but I'll take it.
Gotta start stringing wins together now |

We need to gut out these wins though. We could never get these last two seasons. Gotten a good amount so far this season. |

Dodgers trade Zach Lee to Mariners for Chris Taylor.

The Mariners don't have any studs at short yet they traded Taylor. Maybe they have someone at the lower levels, but it doesn't appear they thought too highly of him. He gives the Dodgers the versatility they seem to crave, as he seems to be an infielder utility-man first, which means a backup at shortstop, though I don't know if this guy improves over Hernandez as he only appears average at best as an infielder
Bottom line . . . meh.
One thing is for certain, this is no traditional front office. They seem to be infatuated with the jack of all trades, master of none, kind of guys. The team needs some masters, and lots of 'em. _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo" |

It's not about the budget. FA is fine. Trading though, teams are going to ask for our best prospects. |

Jim Bowden appeared on the telecast tonight and said that the Dodgers could be targeting Julio Teheran, Sonny Gray, and Andrew Miller. He thinks the Giants will be targeting Chapman. (I assume we won't revisit that again since we passed already.)
Turner is looking like a difference-making hitter again. Which is obviously enormous for this team. With Puig returning tomorrow, that gives him a little over a month to prove that he can hit well. I honestly believe that if he flops, it could be it for him as a starter for this team. If he flops and/or gets hurt again, they can't play the homestretch of the season with Howie in LF or anybody else on the current roster. They will need to make a move. |

Knowing this FO, they'll probably target Gray with a vengeance.
Turner has been a monster. I hope it's a sign he's finally healthy this year. And congrats to Kenley for 162 saves as the new Dodgers career saves leader. _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif

He's also raised his average a little over the last week as has everyone except for Yasmani, but that dude's constantly getting banged up behind the plate. |

I don't see us trying to upgrade at first base at all unless Adrian suffers some sort of injury that flat-out shelves him for the year. He has too long of a track record, and it's not like he's scuffling so badly that he's still not a threat up there. I think he'll figure it out and/or get healthy at some point. |

Our team has a lot of holes but if I had 1 position to reinforce it'd be another starting pitcher. Most of our bats are starting to come alive. With Seager/Thompson showing well, having the vets from last year being even at 80-90% of how they were last year, our offense won't be an issue. After Maeda, the rest of our starting pitchers are basically #5's at best. Way too much pressure on Clayton right now. |

Oh I agree, we need a #2 starter. We can't count on Ryu to do that, or McCarthy, or anyone else we have. We also need another shut-down reliever, and I still maintain that we need another outfielder if Puig simply can't get it back (and he hasn't hit well for any significant period of time since the midway point of the 2014 season). The good news is that we shouldn't have to part with elite prospects to get a guy like Jay Bruce, who would be a rental player. Or we could go the route of trying to get a Ryan Braun, and eat all the money owed to him (meaning we shouldn't have to give up as much of a haul), or we could also agree to take Garza's contract off their hands, which could also lessen the prospect haul. Colorado would probably demand a ton for CarGo.
I'd also be fine if we could upgrade on Grandal (Lucroy would be a real coup), but since most teams don't have great hitting catchers, it's not like I consider that to be a pressing need. But it would be a help.
