It's crazy that by the numbers, this is a top 3 bullpen in baseball but they also have so many blown saves(not that this was a save opp, just saying). |

I went out for late night in n out and since it was the 9th inning I just parked in a lot and listened to the game while chowing down.. Best decision I made this week!! _________________ Don't let perfect be the enemy of good |

FIP is fielding independent pitching. Meaning things the pitcher can control (walks/strikeouts/homers/hit by pitch). Basically, Baez sucks when it matters. He's given up walks and homers in high leverage situations this year.
Here's the formula: http://www.fangraphs.com/library/pitching/fip/

How is that not a 3-base error? They didn't really rule that a HR, did they? |

I think I'm done with Cuban prospects for a while. |
Too bad the Dogs didn't get Moncada last year he's tearing it up in high Double A for the Sox. He's apparently legit 5 tool guy. They were pressing hard for him I recall. |

Yeah he could be a good one. As for Gourriel, at least he's not young, he's a seasoned vet, so he may be a bit more projectable at the big league level. |

crazy ass ending yesterday. Glad I was able to watch it live.
Giants tearing it up right now. They just beat the Pirates to finish 3-1 in the series. Jesus christ. I have a feeling they'll make it again.
But with the Sharks and the Dubs losing their respective finals, is this the start of a bay area curse? _________________ Thank you, Kobe. We love you. |

Looks like the Dodgers are after some "masters" after all:
Quote: | Andrew Friedman said the club was scouting players whom they expected to be available at the trade deadline.
Friedman added the Dodgers’ focus is on ‘elite-level players,’ though clarified a complete landscape of who will be on the trading block won’t become more clear until the next few weeks. Given their deep pockets, talent in the farm system, and World Series aspirations, the Dodgers are largely expected to be aggressive on the trade market. |
Quote: | Bowden said during Monday’s telecast he’s been informed those are the three areas the Dodgers are looking to address at the trade deadline, with Atlanta Braves righty Julio Teheran and Oakland Athletics starter Sonny Gray [Hmmm, Sonny Gray huh?] a focal point |

They're playing well now sure, but I'm positive they'll hit a slump soon enough. It happens to everyone.
Quite frankly, I'm not really concerned with them at the moment. Our guys just need to focus on playing good ball and keep stringing these wins together and we'll be fine. |

Highly doubt it since our problem this year has been hitting. Pitching has been way better than expected considering we've been playing with a make-shift rotation all year. |
