They were just giving Vin his moment to bask in his goodbye...Good for them.

Yeah, I see now. All hell has broken loose. Jerry Harriston thinks he's still on the team.

Dave Roberts = Manager of the Year. Record shattering # of injuries? Runs away with the division.

Dodgers came together despite their injuries. Will this be the postseason they can finally put it together for a run at the World Series?

Nationals don't have much left handed pitching.

Going to be Scherzer vs Clayton most likely to start the playoffs. Season series sits at 5-1. We got this.

I still think Farhan Zaidi should be Jason Alexander's stunt double. Credit for dealing with the injuries from this team? More like they set up all these injuries by acquiring players with injury histories that make orthopedists salivate.

Apparently Friedman’s group was initially ready to anoint minor league boss Gabe Kapler as their dugout conduit. He is someone they know, someone they trust, and someone who thinks enough like them to transfer their ideas directly to the field. But then Dodgers ownership, while supportive of Kapler, asked them to consider other candidates who might be a better mix of numbers and human nature. The owners are smartly concerned about their dugout being run by a Friedman clone. They are, instead, hoping to find somebody who could complement the boss, taking Friedman’s smart ideas and turning them into the sort of scrapping baseball wins that the Dodgers couldn’t find under Mattingly.

Thank GOD the owners pushed for Roberts. What a manager he has been despite the expected rookie manager stumbles. He's a bulldog and the team has acquired that trait.

same here. Watching the Doyers on TV and getting the updates for the rams on my phone. So glad they won. Such a great day for LA sports today. Such a perfect ending for vinny's final home game. I love him so much and will miss him.

We can still catch the Nationals to get home field advantage in the NLDS. I think we have the tie breaker.

Nationals 91-64
Dodgers 90-66

home field is a bit overrated in baseball. We had home field that last 2 years and look how that turned out. Braves had home field in 2013 and we advanced.

Thats more of a circumstance that the division series is still a best out of 5 series. If it was turned into a best of 7 series, chances are its more likely that a team with the better record would win. Heck, the hated Giants won 3 games on the road in 2010 even after they lost the first 2 games at home.

They couldn't care less about home field or, these remaining games.

They should. They're an awful road team. Outside of Kershaw and Maeda, the rest of the starters, mostly ex-A's, Rays, get blown to pieces without that Dodger Stadium advantage.

Well this game is over....
Dodgers will regret it badly if they manage not to eliminate the Giants from the playoffs....
Wouldn't be surprised if for some reason the Giants make it to the NLCS if they make the playoffs....they manage to always get hot during the postseason, this iteration of the Giants.

Well only two more years with McCarthy. Fortunately he's started an average of 6.5 games a season so that's minimal damage he's done to us. Hey, at least he's cheap right!?

This loss does not sit well with me. I remember when the Giants eliminated us from the playoffs - they were celebrating on our home field. I know we have to rest, but I'm still pissed that we're not going to eliminate them.

Embarrassing game. Dodgers will be a first round exit.

It bugs me that we know these Giants are very dangerous in the playoffs....in the 2014 season they went from barely making the playoffs, to winning the 1 game wildcard elimination, to easily defeating the Nationals, Cards, and then the Royals.

lol @ everyone (bleep) about a game that didn't matter where Roberts was just throwing a bunch of pitchers out there to audition for the playoff roster and started kike, segedin, culberson and ruiz.

everyone blows (bleep) way out of proportion in this thread.
