Is Huertas still having hamstring issues or something? He looked completely outclassed athletically tonight vs. PHX.
While he has PG skills on offense, but it's really hard to imagine him as being a net positive with what he gives up on defense. |

I'm more worried about his ankles
He is famous for his "matador defense." |

One of these days both his ankles are break at a 90 degree angle on the same play. Probably against Steph Curry. _________________ Don't let perfect be the enemy of good |

Had the same amount of AST as Russell. Not bad for 14 mins. |

That sequence tonight where he had to committ an "old guy at LA Fitness foul" and intentionally foul BKnight to prevent getting burned followed by the very next play getting absolutely toasted by Archie Goodwin, he deserved to be immediately released for that. He's just not NBA caliber. He's not even on the same talent level, and his 360 degree turnaround response to the Brendan Knight crossover was evident of that as well. That's what is known as MATADOR DEFENSE!
I like his offensive passing, it's very good but his defense is very bad. |

He also cost us the game in the first three mins of the 4th quarter. Turnovers, stupid fouls, and the worst defense I've ever seen. All the assists in the world won't cover up for his inability to defend a paraplegic.
I hope Byron wises up and keeps Bilbo Baggins glued to the bench |

Huertas was better during the preseason when he was vocal and leading the second unit. Nowadays I don't seem him doing the same thing. Why? I don't know. But I'm just going to lay the blame on the coaching staff and their total ineptitude on the offensive end as a factor to his poor play.
Not going to say anything about his defense. We all know he is a sieve. Let's not act surprised when he gets roasted on that end. |

He had good games just when Lou where out. Just a coach that play Bass and Kelly together can use a back court of Lou and Huertas. Everybody will look bad with those lineups |

we live in a weird world.people watch a 6 second video and come to a conclusion about a player's career.yeah he got crossed over so what? MJ got crossed over by a rookie.did it change the fact that he's greatest basketball player of all time? no.this is basketball you play it long enough you'll get dunked on crossed over.it happens.in fact if that never happens to a guy it means he doesn't play defense.let's talk about huertas again.is he a good defender? no.but he can be really efficient leading the 2nd unit offensively?but looking at the first 11 games it doesn't look like it's gonna happen.he didn't get much PT but when he did he couldn't take advantage of it. |

Huertas just cannot defend at the NBA level. And since Scott needs to play Lou for whatever reason, you can't have Huertas/Lou out there together either. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

We should cut Huertas....
He's listed at 6'3, however, I have my doubts on his true size, since he always looks like the smallest guy on the court by far....
Offensively, he is very limited and defensively he is a matchup made in heaven for opponents... |

There's a video somewhere of Swaggy getting crossed up and dunked on in the Drew League. Then some guy jumps on court with a cellphone in his face to record his reaction... lol... Now that's embarrassing. |

You can't just cut a guy with no replacement. He shouldn't be getting minutes though except during times like these when Clarkson is injured. |

People called Steve Nash unselfish... Huertas makes Nash look like JR Smith. |

I called him Nash-lite in the preseason. It now appears he is the "we can rebuild him" version of Nash.
This is why you never critique a player based on preaseason or summer league. |

He sucks on both sides of the ball. He has no business being on an NBA team. |

He's a complete non entity offensively and is so overmatched defensively that he fouls intentionally every time a guy attacks him.
I'm sure there are better options in the waiver wire. |

I don't think they will go there because season is pretty much over now. Also just let Russell and Clarkson handle all the minutes at PG and let them delvelop in peace. |
