On the other side of the floor, last place in Opponent Turnover Ratio. By a good margin. So at least we aren't defending well, either.
Confused Confusion Indecisively Exploding

Warriors have the best defense and the best offense - like the Spurs. Hope that after the five game road trip, we will see on the court players who are "All In" and committed to playing D effectively/efficiently

not true Chinaman. He has a lot of influence in that respect. He's the coach for crying out loud. If he can't dictate who gets the ball then what is he doing?

These are absolute numbers, not percentages. This is on Byron because he doesn't play Russell enough.

Russell's touches are low both in volume and as a percentage. Considering that Isaiah Thomas plays starters minutes, Russell is essentially last in touches per minute as well.

Even though the coach is partly to blame for his low amount of touches, I believe majority of the reason why his touches are low is also because he doesn't try to do much with the ball when he gets it besides take a low percentage mid range jump shot or pass it to the first player he sees coming off the pick. I don't harp on him being unable to attack off the pick, or beat his man off the dribble, but one of my pet peeve of his is he doesn't even try to probe or find situations where he can bait the defense and draw free throws, that's not on coach, that's on D'Angelo.

That wouldn't result in more touches, since he already has the ball. What it shows is when he does what scott asks, gives up the entry pass into the set, he rarely sees it again.

Joe is shooting 32.6% from the field and is not good this season. Watch him become a star again vs Lakers(just like Faried).

Him passing it to the guy coming off of the pick is not a bad thing at all. He gets us into our set plays and then runs them. Despite his limited touches, he leads the team in actual assists, potential assists, hockey assists, and points created by assist. We score more points when he touches the ball.

On shots between 15 feet and the 3 point line, he's 6-12 this year, and he was at a 1.04 PPP on these shots in college as well. It's actually not a low percentage shot for him.

I would think Clarkson, Randle and Kobe being ball handlers and initiators would also be a big factor in his low numbers.

That is certainly part of it. But I'd argue that if the ball starts in Russell's hands, there's a good chance that those other guys get a touch, but the inverse of that isn't true.

With most of the "plays" consisting of one pass then a shot, making the transition defense a much harder task, it looks like pickup games at the gym

That I understand, plus he is only a rookie after all, so I know he will get better. Its just that he will need to find more ways to score and do more with the ball to get more touches. He is averaging only 2.8 ast per game, thats really not that impressive, yeah its leading the team but that looks really bad for the team. His offensive rating per 100 possessions is 84, good for 2nd worse on the team only better than Ryan Kelly. His win share is a -0.2 thats unacceptable for your starting point guard! D'Angelo will need to improve and do it fast to justify him getting more touches and if the team is gonna snap out of their losing streak.

Young can have a nice late career as s spot up shooter. He has streakiness, but I have to give him a lot of props for embracing the role. As Russell develops, he's going to see a lot of open shots.

I always disliked young because of the way he played but so far this season I think he's doing a good job offensively. I would like to see a bit more energy on defense but he has been good over all by his standards.

He's never going to be a very good defender, but as a solid spot up guy who can play both wing spots and can also get you some bail out scores, he's solid, especially at the MLE level.
