Stan Van Gundy has done a great job to make this kid his Dwight Coward 2.0. In a way, it's the system but the kid really does have that motor to get those rebounds as well. Beast.

I remember him at the draft.
I thought Cleveland should've drafted Drummond. He was raw but you could see the potential.
At that time, they already had Kyrie Irving so it made zero sense to me that they drafted Waiters. I'm sure they were gunning for Beal but when he was picked by WAS they went with what they thought was the next best thing. Short sighted pick IMO. They needed a big at the time.
Anyway, the scary part is that Drummond right now has a better post game than Dwight ever had in Orlando. If he keeps this up, he'll have a legendary career in Detroit with SVG at the helm.

who yall like more, Drummond or Whiteside?
Drummond is 4 years younger and more around our core's age group. Whiteside is a little older, already 26. I also trust that Drummond, being a lotto pick, is actually more of a for sure thing in terms of career. I don't think we can get Drummond, so I'll settle for Whiteside. But Whiteside is a better defender.
BTW, in these types of situations, couldn't things go bad? Couldn't Drummond pull a Carlos Boozer on the Pistons? Once upon a time Boozer also had a similar agreement with the Cavs I believe, then decided to bolt to Utah.

I doubt it. There are reports that he won't sign an extension until next season's Free Agency so that the Pistons have more cap room to sign players. He and SVG are on the same page right now and it's showing.

BTW, Drummond likes to match his pt averages to his rebound averages. LOL! 13 and 13 in the previous two years, and so far 19 and 19 this year. I don't think it's going stay at 19 and 19, but man.. very sick numbers.

That's what I'm saying. Boozer was allowing the Cavs to handle their business to make things easier. Then he bolted. LOL!

Oh yeah. I forgot about that. That happened early in James' career.
If Drummond did leave, he'd be doing the league a favor.
