D-Fenders down Suns 115 - 105 (Highlights)
*Ivica Zubac (17 points) vs. the Suns -
*Vander Blue (31 points) vs. the Suns
*Justin Harper posts 15 points & 10 rebounds vs. the Suns
I don't understand why Blue and Harper aren't in the league. I know Blue isn't an NBA specialist at one particular thing, but he's aggressive and does a lot well.
Harper has always been SF in a PF body, the Brian Cook I wish Brian Cook was. More athletic, more comfortable with ball-handling, better 3pt. trigger. Every team needs a stretch PF and I know Harper can't defend the rim, but if he can rebound and hit 3s, that's usually enough. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Detroit picked him up for a few weeks last season and he held his own.
I fully expect some team to sign him to a 10 day contract or two in the coming months.
Hopefully he can find his niche' somewhere in the league.
He has potential.

Jacobs may be able to develop into a solid defensive PG.
I'd take him and/or Maggette right now!
Both are excellent passers too.
I think both are overrated.
I'm surprised Justin Harper doesn't get more of a look. If you ever wanted a PF with range...
In reality neither is highly rated, accept by us homers, it's only wishful thinking.
Harper indeed and probably Ayers deserve a look from somebody.
Ayers looked solid, but he is not a young guy correct? That is why I mentioned Jacobs, he still is young enough to develop more for a year or two. I dont see an issue with a guy developing into a solid bench guard in their mid 20's.

Ayers will be 30 on his birthday, so yea his window is closing, I hope he gets a decent shot this season.
The Reno Bighorns (6-12) fell to the Los Angeles D-Fenders (15-5) 125-118 Tuesday night at the Reno Events Center.
Vander Blue paced the D-Fenders with 26 points and three rebounds and three assists while Josh Magette recorded a double-double with 22 points, 10 assists and four rebounds.
The D-Fenders may have led by as much as 20 points in the second half, but they still needed some late-game heroics to get the win.
Thanks to a clutch three-pointer from Travis Wear with just seconds remaining, the D-Fenders knocked off the visiting Iowa Energy on Thursday at the Toyota Sports Center, 119-118.
Summary:
From high school and college to the NBA and Spain, Travis Wear has played a lot of basketball, but he hadn’t hit a game-winner until the D-Fenders needed him on Thursday. Down by two in the final seconds, point guard Josh Magette probed the defense and found Wear wearing on the wing for a skip pass. With 1.2 seconds left, the UCLA product calmly fired and drained the 3-pointer to lift Los Angeles over the Iowa Energy, 119-118.
Player of the Game
Travis Wear: The game-winner was just the finale of a strong night for the Lakers’ training camp member. Wear collected a double-double with 15 points and a game-high 11 rebounds while also providing his team spacing by hitting three 3-pointers.
