COME ON DOWN ANTHONY BROWN!
THE D-FENDERS WANT YOU....
If AB3 clears waivers, which is highly likely, he could become an “affiliate” player and play for the D-Fenders.
His contract is guaranteed so money shouldn't be an issue.
Keeping him inside of the organization could be beneficial to all parties concerned.
He could be called up at anytime or signed by another team. DO IT ..... AB. |

Hopefully Brown signs with the D-Fenders same goes for Jacobs and Auguste. Few players who have been waived by NBA teams today I wouldn't seeing the D-Fenders getting them. _________________ Coach MWP. |

I'm looking forward to the d-league games actually. You know there will be no ballstoppers on that squad, and those guys will try to prove why they belong in the NBA. |

I think Auguste, Wear, and Jacobs are a lock to be on the team. Maybe even Brown. Isn't the draft in a few days? |

D-League Draft is set for October 30th.
I would love for all of those guys to join the D-Fenders. |

I thought Blue went overseas? Harper is a guy that I liked last season. A big that could stretch the floor. |

JB signed shortly after being waived by the Bucks. He would have been a great addition to the D-Fenders. |

I'm pretty sure we do since he has a guaranteed contract. |

Kid wants to get paid! I can't blame him for that.
Three point specialist and D-League 3 point contest winner Andre Ingram, formerly a D-Fender, also signed overseas.
He has a family and needed more money than the D-League had to offer. |

The DLeague would be so easy to fix and cost the owners/players pennies. Even if you just made the salary structure mirror the NBA @ 1%, it gives each team over $900K to pay 12 players....salaries that they can actually live on. |

D-league players make around 12 - 24k.
Baseline salary in Europe ranges from 65 to 100k and it's untaxed. There are opportunities for advancement, so one could end up making 500k to a few million later on.
I feel like Auguste should be making that much with the d-fenders. He could end up being a solid player later on.
Overseas is where it's at:
Quote: |
The worst part about basketball players staying in the USA and playing in the D-league is the fact that most D-league salaries range from only $12,000 to $24,000. Average overseas players can get a $65,000 contract with ease. Depending on the league that players get into in Europe, salaries can start as high as $100,000. Not only is there a big discrepancy between the salaries, but the money made in Europe is typically tax free. The club oftentimes will pay your taxes to the country you are playing in. That American who is playing overseas may also receive credit with the United States government for paying their taxes. Further, most European clubs commonly pay for a player’s living expenses. That includes providing a player with a car and lodging. So the player in Europe can be saved from taxes and the more expensive living expenses. |
Blame falls on the NBA for paying these peanuts. The d-league talent pool should not be worse than the NCAA talent pool. |

To clarify, Anthony Brown is not an affiliate player of the D-Fenders because he was not on a new contract.

Unfortunately Blue is one of those guys who can dominate NBDL competition without moving the ball. It just shows how poor the talent pool is really. That's really where the state of the d-league is at right now. Europe has all the best non-NBA players.
I think if Coby Karl can get him to defend, share the ball and do the little things that NBA teams look for, he has a chance of making it to the NBA. He has to specialize in something other than scoring. |
