The Nets were willing to give a first round pick for Ely, but the Bobcats weren't interested.

Bynum should see more PT. Phil has to play him more if Mihm is out. I suspect Brian Cook's minutes will increase the most. Kwame will move to center. Hopefully, Ronny Turiaf will be ready to play soon. Odom isn't available to move over to PF. Cook and DG at least have some triangle experience. If the Lakers wanted to showcase a player for a trade, this is the perfect opportunity for Cook and DG to display their talents.

Actually, the Nets are playing hardball with Ely because they know several teams want him, and they got him for only a 2nd round draft pick, and Sean May got hurt. Add that all together and you get no trade this year, but if they let Ely go to the end of the year, he'll drop them like a hot potatoe because they refuse to play him.

A lot of you guys need to stop talking basketball because you don't understand from an agent or player perspective.

Right.

Because you understand it so well being a former NBA player/agent yourself.

So how many points did you average?

(wait, maybe ITS TIME TO START BYNUM!!!)

Start? hmmmm...maybe not quite, but I think If Mihm misses a couple games, or is limited in any way then the kid should get substantially more minutes. There is no way phil would be able to get around playing him. Let's say that if Mihm misses 2 games(Hopefully he doesn't miss any because he's playing pretty well) Kwame will start at center, and Cook will start at the 4(assuming it takes a few games for LO to get back), "Socks" will be the only big man left and would demand playing time(Turiaf apparently needs a little more time before he'll see any minutes, according to Phil).

If Chris "The Secret of" Mihm does miss any games it will suck. No doubt

but....

If Andrew "Bye Shaq" Bynum can get some additional PT, it might be a blessing in disguise.

Too bad Greg Oden isn't coming out in the draft this year.

WHY? It doesn't matter, if we DO slip? It won't be bad enough for us to drop into the top 10 in the draft.

Last season they lost Odom for the season through surgery and the coach had quit.

If the same happens, We will be in the lottery again.

But as it stands, Phil is coaching on a 3 year deal. LO is expected back after the ASB (though I have seen no confirmation that he will be out that long)

Playoffs aren't a lock, but we still are in the picture - which is very important.

As much as I'm impressed with Mihm's recent bout of consistency, this might be a blessing in desguise for some of our players. Kwame will get to play his natural position in the triangle, and Bynum will definately play some solid minutes. And I like Bynum on the court.

If Stromile Swift got the full MLE, Ely will get the full MLE. That fact that he is tall is definitely in his favor.
