I never skied or snowboarded before but thought it would be fun to bring my 2.5 year old to a ski resort this winter. Are there any kid friendly resorts in California with activities for Toddlers?

Have you considered renting a cabin in Big Bear? The fam's done it twice and the kids have a blast with a sled and just dicking around in the snow.

+1.

The few slopes I've been to were super crowded in Big Bear. Not exactly toddler friendly either. Some jack ass slid down on his tube in an area he wasnt supposed to and almost took out my wife and Mom while we were in line for some hot chocolate.

Check out cabins and take your own sleds or tubes and make/find your own slopes. No crowds and you get to do things at your own pace.

when i look at random cabins on airbnb I dont see any that appear to have their own little area where you have room to use sleds or tubes on the property.

Those pictures are hard to tell. Ask the owners what the area around it is like. Honestly, if there's snow...all you need is a small empty area and bit of elevation and it'll be fun. I'm assuming btw that by toddler you mean 2-ish right? If that's the case, hell, even the snow in the front lawn of whatever small cabin will blow them away.

I personally don't like Big Bear. Too crowded, bad snow quality, and not really a great selection of runs.

Mammoth is a bit further from Los Angeles, but it's a far superior experience in my opinion. Lots of bunny slopes to choose from and you can take the gondola to the top of the mountain just for sightseeing.

For sledding or tubing, we usually just go to Forrest Falls. Its about 6000 feet in the San Bernardino Mountains.
