I see what you are saying, and I might not be where I really want him, but with the right contract it might work. I would prefer offering the max to Drummond, there have been rumors that the Pistons don't think he is worth the max. I would make them put their money where their mouths were. |
Link? It's quite the opposite from what I've read. |
I wish I could, it was a tweet from about 2-3 days ago. More than likely just an opinion. |
Ibaka would be a valuable guy to get.
Not just his play, which is very good, offensively and defensively, but his contract is so reasonable at 12.25.
I think you may be overpaying a bit with the pick and Randle, but maybe we get another asset back too, like Payne or a pick. Maybe we could also offload Nick in the deal.
His cap hold is like 18 or so, so if we did shed Lou and Nick in 2017, signed Derozen and Whiteside (in 2016), we could still have enough to max Westbrook in 2017, then resign Ibaka too (if we are careful with no additional long term deals this off season).
2017 could look like this:
PG-Westbrook/Payne
SG- Derozen/Clarkson
SF- ?/Brown
PF- Ibaka/Nance
C- Whiteside/?
With some money for a SF and a backup 5.
Favors is a another guy I like at his contract. |
If OKC is trading Ibaka they will be rebuilding and want young assets. If we balk at what they want then they will just look elsewhere. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

CP3 for Irving
Griffin for Randle, Clarkson, black and future pick
Deandre
Randle
SF
Clarkson
Irving

Ya, interesting that Ibaka's name came up now though.
The first thing I thought when I saw that was do they think they are losing Durant? Not necessarily the case I guess, but interesting none the less. _________________ "Rangers lead the way!"

DLO for Capela, gave me a good chuckle though, appreciate it. |

Just stop. It's called leverage. More than a few teams will be after Lou. It's not like Houston is holding us hostage.
But yeah DLO for Capela, sign us up! |
Yes. Nick/Lou give us leverage.
And no, I did not say we should trade DLO for Capela. I said Houston would ask for him to which we'd say no. But thank God for the Nick/Lou leverage. |
You really think there isn't more than one offer for Lou right now? Sigh, probably better we end this discussion as its going right over your head. |

I am not sure if it is a case of them thinking they will lose Durant, or if they want to strengthen the team to keep Durant. Though I don't see what they could bring back in an Ibaka trade that would be better than him. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

How do you not understand that if multiple teams want Lou we have considerable leverage in that process.
Keep forgetting youre the guy that suggests DLO for Capela though, when like the above poster said, he's worth nothing more than a 2nd. |
I know you're new here, but you need to actually learn how to read my posts. I did not say that and if you persist, it's likely your stay here may be a short one. |
I've been here for a long time actually. And have been considerably closer to the organization than you have you ever been so feel free to do what you want.
You're post count is sure high though, congratulations. |

I'd love to keep my current one and spare the time of signing up again. But whatever floats your boat. Seems petty to ban someone over a small disagreement.
Back to trade talk, hopefully. |

Petty describes how you have acted. I suggest you read my first post, and then realize I never said that we should trade DLO for Capela. But hey, if you want to persist, proceed accordingly. It's not disagreement when you're purposefully and aggressively misstating my position and then taking umbrage when that's pointed out. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

It's cool you 2.
Mitch I think Yinoma was simply saying that a package built around Nick and Lou would not net a young cost controlled center like Capella. He was saying they'd ask for DLo, which of course is something we would never do.
He wasn't saying we should offer DLo for Capella.
Yinoma is a great poster, very well respected on here, and he never calls people out, so when you appeared to call him out, we took offense.
No worries though, let's just keep it Laker talk and not get personal.

If there were currently some good offers out there for Nick, Lou or any other player, I would think that the FO would have made the trade by now or seriously have thought about benching - inactivating them.
If they continue to play and get an injury that causes the other team to walk away from the trade, then that would be silly since the dream of the Playoffs should have been squashed by now. |

Interesting blockbuster trade. I do remember the Bucks being infatuated with Randle but it still seems like they would need some picks or they're the clear loser. |

The trade fails because the Bucks are taking back too much salary.
If you are going to make up trades, at least perform the proper due diligence and run them through some type of online Trade validation web site. |

((COMMENT REMOVED- JMK))
I hope you're right.
If it is true, we make out like Bandits. Basically JC and Randle for Blake, and we shed some long term debt for short term. Dream scenario.
The Clips don't do too bad. Monroe and DJ would be formidable. But they get too many guards and don't address their biggest issue, SF. Plus, I think they'd want our top 3 if we keep it.
I have a hard time believing the'd ever allow Blake to end up in our hands, since we share a city and a building.
For the Bucks, I think they'd like to move Monroe out and MCW is a RFA, and not too sure how high they are on him. Randle is a nice get but the rest is trash, but at least Hibbert expires. Still seems like they trade 2 semi proven players for one even less proven.
Hope it goes down, but I'm not holding my breath. _________________ "Rangers lead the way!"
