Q: What do you think about Kobe taking too many shots and how it sets the tone for more isolation plays instead of ball movement?
Byron Scott: "First of all, he's had 20 years experience. We might not have 6 players that have 20 years in this league combined. Kobe has that privilege (to take as many shots). I want Kobe to be Kobe, other guys haven't earned that right yet. So when it gets to their hands and it's stcking, and you're a first, second, or third year player, you haven't earned that right yet. I think guys want to do the right thing but they just don't know how to go about it."
I'd bet this isn't what the FO wants. They hear the public and media slandering Kobe for his shot jacking. They're just letting Scott dig his own grave - they could tell him to try to reign Kobe way the hell in.
It's just something we're gonna have to live with until he retires, he's won us 5 titles 🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾 doing it his way _________________ My Dream Starting 5 next Season

Good lord that read was painful... so because Kobe has 20 years, he can play any way he wants to the detriment of the team and we should all be thankful for it.
Can someone please make Byron shut the f up before i go crazy. _________________ "He may say it's not you, it's him.... but it's really you."

If the FO wanted someone to try to change or even slightly coach Kobe they would have kept MDA. This what they committed to when they re-signed him for 2 years.

Man, I wonder what Byron is going to do when Kobe retires and can't protect him anymore. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
This is what's wrong with this team, no accountability. You have someone like Kobe preaching ball movement and then the very next day goes 6-22 jacking up contested shots and shooting us out of the game. You have Lou Williams who seemingly has the green light to shoot whatever shot he wishes. How is this setting a good example for the youngsters? D'Angelo especially has a completely different set of standards he must follow compared to everyone else, and Kobe has the free reign to do whatever he wishes. Then you have a coach who contradicts everything he says and doesn't make sense half the time.

He has the Showtime squad for that.
For all of the zipped mouths from them on Scotts incompetence, I can't wait to hear what they say when he's fired this summer. They're so irrational, I can see Worthy getting pissed and doing something crazy like leaving TWC. I can see Magic waging a media war. lol .
I miss MDA's emotional outbursts on the sidelines when he argues calls for the players and the team... man at least the games were entertaining... seriously...

Maybe they want to let Kobe try to have his fun in his last year?
This why Scott has to go . Kobe missing 18 shots a game isn't productive at all . It's becoming wasted possessions lately him and Lou have a crazy green light .and there both not efficient at it .

Doesn't sound too far fetched, that's for sure. What I didn't bank on, however, was Brandon Bass being catered to similarly. _________________ We back.

Yup, the Bass situation is weird for sure.
And MWP! He's good for a couple horrible ISOs a game - he should have had the red light since pre-season on those. Seems like nothing's been said to him though

Who? Magic isn't part-owner anymore and Worthy is just a TWC analyst.
There's Kupchak too, I guess, but don't know if he and Scott are really all that close. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

He got off to such a promising start too but that mojo has since gone stale. Which is a bummer because he's bogging down what little flow the 2nd unit had. Metta taking the offensive load upon himself is exactly what should not be happening. Right there next to Bass never playing the 5. _________________ We back.
