to be fair it was contested but russell was sagging off to much. Still great shot

the idea was to stay close to your man, make the pass difficult... Russell was ball watching, or whatever he did was not defense.

The ball was on the other side of the court. Russell was playing in help, which is the correct position and made the good close out, but McCollum hit the better shot.

it was just a close out, a last resort attempt at making the shot difficult. I wouldn't call it good. a good close out is when you prevent a shot, or make the shooter put it on the floor. Russell sagged too much. deal with it.
it was a big possession wherein a stop would have made a difference, a bucket much more a 3 would have meant Lakers lose. I expected everybody to play their man tight.

If everyone plays their man tight, that means there's no help defense whatsoever. That's not correct defense.

the reason McCollum was WIDE open was because Russell sagged too much. I can't spell it any better than that.

That's the only way to get through a rebuild. I'm usually never upset after a L because I'm only really judging the team by how Russell plays. IMO he has lived up to the 2nd pick.

Btw he's going to destroy philly. I'm willing to bet on it!

It's a shame he has to go through this. Too many chuckers and bad coaching is why he isn't avg 20/5/5 right now. On the Spurs or Mavs with great coaching he would be unbelievable.

My man. You don't want to bite on Drifts, who I'm sure is just a legitimate stealth troll at this point.

I don't think there's anything stealth about it. All of his posts in this thread were about Russell. He's deranged.

Yup I don't understand why CLarkson is not the first option on offense. He is efficient and he can get anywhere on the court.

Yeah. I want to say he was shooting around 70% at halftime. Didn't get much burn after that. This seems to happen quite a bit.

They don't run anything for him, which is probably why his attempts seem erratic and random.

Tanking for what though? We have to get better eventually. If the Lakers FO are banking on Free agents signing with us in teh future, this is not the way to go. We also cannot out tank Philly. They have the worst record on lockdown.

I don't think tanking is a good thing. I do feel that its the only thing that explains whats going on

I don't think we are tanking this season.

We should be developing these young guys, win or lose, not holding them back.

If we aren't tanking how does one explain Byron seemingly laughing at the media and fans questioning his illogical coaching and his 2-13 record. How does it explain playing all the guys who are struggling more and playing all the guys that are doing well less? A proven vet like Hibbert is playing only 26 minutes a game while being the only center on the team. Kobe leads the team in minutes while being terrible. I cant believe that both Byron and the front office are this dumb. Its got to be a tank job.

It certainly smells like a tank. I mean we are doing things out there which are obviously not working and then we keep doing them. Bass at center, benching JC/Dlo when they get hot, playing Kob a ton of minutes and giving him a ton of shots, horrifc rotations, etc.

But, I guess I can't prove it's not a tank. I just think this is not the year you want to be tanking imo. We've got future pieces now, we ought to be setting them up for success. And hey if we get a pick in the meantime, fine, but, we shouldn't be sabotaging the team for the pick when we have assets we want to stick around here. Last year was different, a bunch of a 1 yr guys.

I do think were tanking but the young players should decide if we win or lose not the vets. Metta wouldn't make any other roster but he's getting PT over Anthony Brown. It's things like this that gets me frustrated more so then the losing.
