Watched the pilot a while back and just couldn't get in to it.

But the concept is amazing and maybe I need to give it another shot because I've heard great things.

Such good villains in this movie. Rufus Sewell's a natural at it but the villain whose really grabbing my attention is Inspector Kido played by Joel de la Fuente. That guy is scary.

Spoiler:

I take it you're referring to the end with Tagomi waking up in unoccupied America? I haven't read the book and have avoided reading too much on the Internet. However, if you're familiar with Philip K. Dick's other works of fiction, you have to assume this has science fiction overtones and this version of America is just an alternate reality.

What's really scary is that if this happened in real life, the levels of violence and evil perpetuated by Germany and Japan would've made HBO shows pale in comparison. Even Amazon wouldn't be able to show it.

I've watched episode one so far. I found it thin, cliched and predictable (particularly the "reveal" at the end, who didn't see that coming), but interesting enough to give it another episode or so.

Also spoilers:

I haven't read the book, but my assumption is that it takes literally the "alternate universes" theory, where there is an alternate universe in which the Axis wins WWII, and at least one other alternate universe, due to the events in the final film. (And perhaps there are infinite alternate universes...) Tagomi, for reasons that aren't explained, has the ability to travel between these alternate universes, and this is how the films find their way to this universe -- Tagomi brings them in from the universe in which the Allies won the war. He also brings stuff the other way, for example the heart necklace that he still has with him at the end.

Show has yet to be renewed but it probably will be. Think this was the most watched Amazon pilot ever. And show hasn't dissapointed so why not? We'll probably get season 2 next year.

Really good show. Some suspect acting and questionable pacing at times, but better than most things you can find on cable.

I don't think they would've split the US into two...they would fought each other for control. They were only allies because of necessity, same thing happened with the US and the USSR in WW2.

It's worth it for the John Smith-heavy episodes in the latter half.

Finally saw this. I liked it. Pretty interesting actors, at least the older ones. I am curious about what is next, but I have a hard time seeing how this is not a one-trick pony - either they draw out this mystery film thing which could get dull or they reveal it soon and then what.

I hope they explore some more of the middle no-man's land area.

An odd thing to comment about but I LOVE the opening for this show.

Phillip K. Dick wrote some incredible stuff for adaptation. However the feel of the original was quite different from the screen versions. For those that don't know Minority Report and Blade Runner were also adaptations of Dicks work. EDIT- He was quite an interesting guy though some thought he was quite insane.
