Yup. Losing against the DLeagur all stars, I mean Pelicans was not a good sign.

I think this is proof about Bass's value to the team. Sans Lou this team was humming along fine. Sans Lou and Bass, though, and this team can't beat a glorified D-League team.

Also says enough about Tarik and not in a good way.

Oklahoma City is locked into #3 spot at this point, so there's a good probability they're resting their starters. Houston and Utah are fighting for their playoff lives, so I doubt the Lakers win either.

I would guess Westbrook and KD want to play one last time against Kobe.

I'm sure they'll play, but I seriously doubt they're going to approach their 35 MPG averages.

It'll take 22 minutes for Westbrook to put up 18/12/10 and KD to put up 26 points

I'm not going to lose any sleep over losing the pick. Will I be frustrated? Definitely, since we had our worst season in franchise history and won't have a pick to show for it, but we have to lose our pick to Philly at some point. Ideally yes, you'd want the pick this year and give the pick to them next year when we are projected to have a substantially better record. That being said, if we lose the pick this year, we'll have the pick next year in a projected stronger draft. I definitely won't be rooting for another tank job if we lose the pick this year, I'll still have the same expectations for next year's roster, which is around 30 wins.

If we are lucky.

This team is simply terrible.

Nice, now hopefully the team can play loose. Byron should just let the leash off and let them play and have fun these last handful of games so they can really enjoy Kobes final games and enter the off season on a positive note.

I think you do not understand how bad this team is.

We are simply not competitive for a reason.

I am glad that Jim Buss thinks that we have "turned the corner".

if we dont get the pick, i kind of feel like mitch will pull something out of his hat and pull off some ridiculous trade or sign KD/Whiteside etc.

but if we do get the pick, i think we will end up not signing anyone or getting anyone good...

not sure why i feel that way though

Nice tank job..under most circumstances this should have got the worst record. This year rival commander tank extraordinare Hinkie was at his absolute best with the 2nd worst performance ever in NBA history.

I feel sorry for any team that gives Whiteside the max, unless its a two year deal and there's no one else to sign with the money. He plays on a team with good defenders now, put him on the Lakers as a starter and its anyone's guess if he can stay out of foul trouble. He lost his starting spot to Amare, and only got it back against the shorthanded Orlando Magic. He wouldn't help spacing, but on the plus side, Randle would be forced to develop his face-up game. Hassan + no pick = 25 wins max, if everyone improves. Hassan could push the right team over the top, but for us, only a moderate improvement over Roy.

I think you overrate Hibbert.

And this is an understatement.

Good call. A combination of Westbrook's beastly-ness and our utter ineptitude at the game of basketball almost broke a record.

How many times did the regulars in this thread wish for LA to clinch the 2nd worst record early enough so that we could root for a win v Utah to send Kobe off on a high note ?

I'd say last night surpassed all of our wildest ideas of what the night could be.

Kobe with a game for the ages.

Almost fell to page three, but recent developments have called for tank maintenance and upkeep.

Will have to change title to 2016-2017 Tank Thread if Byron sticks around. It will be like his three seasons in Cleveland all over again, except we might not land the #1, making it so much more worse.
