Season series: 0 - 0
Interesting matchup...
Julius Randle (12.2 PPG, 9.4 REB, 1.8 AST)
vs
LaMarcus Aldridge (15.4 PPG, 8.8 REB, 1.3 AST)
This will be the first matchup between the two power forwards since Aldridge did not play in the pre-season game against us when he was still in Portland and Randle had a season-ending injury afterwards.
The game winner... Nick Young hit a game winning three-pointer over Manu Ginobili to top the Spurs at the AT&T Center last season. Lets see if we can get the second win in a row in their arena with Nick Young, Julius Randle and D'Angelo Russell coming off great performances against the Timberwolves.
Going against the best defensive team in the NBA... The Spurs boast a defensive efficiency of 92.7, which is currently the best in the NBA. However, their reigning Defensive Player of the Year, Kawhi Leonard is currently dealing with stomach flu and might be one the the reasons that the Spurs lost to the Raptors last night.
With Russell and Randle coming off amazing performances I currently feel confident that they will impose a challenge to the 2nd best team in the NBA. Let's see how it turns out. _________________ I was an atheist, until I knew Kobe.

Ordinarily, should be a game where Scott gets canned after losing by 55. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

The game vs the T-Wolves should have been on ESPN. It had it all, drama, action & OT.
This game promises to be a snoozer. |

My Keys to the Game
Limit the turnovers - The Lakers committed a lot of turnovers in most games and gave up a lot of fast break points in transition. They need to value every possession they got to avoid giving up extra points to the Spurs.
Rotate defenses quickly - The Spurs excel at moving the ball and would easily collapse our defenses. Everyone has to stick to their man and rotate if needed to make sure the Spurs don't get easy baskets.
Fight for every rebound - The Lakers got out-rebounded by the Timberwolves 40-47 last game. The Spurs have better rebounders on their squad and LA would need to work harder on the boards to gain a few more extra possessions for extra points. _________________ I was an atheist, until I knew Kobe.

Clarkson is listed as questionable against the San Antonio Spurs due to ankle sprain. _________________ I was an atheist, until I knew Kobe.

Is this the last game of the road trip? Hopefully it is. It'll be a good game for Russell and Randle and maybe Clarkson (depending on if he plays) to get experience against all time greats/elite players like Tony, Manu, Tim, LMA, and Leonard. |

No, they will have to face the Rockets as their last game of the road trip which is a back-to-back game. _________________ I was an atheist, until I knew Kobe.

Only way we win is if Kobe turns back the clock to at least the Kobe that had to deal with howard, and Russell/Clarkson/Randal both suddenly explode to an elite level...In other words unlikely. Though I hope the rookies get a good chance to get use to elite teams, and get playing time against them. |

I think we'll have a chance if Kobe decides to take a step back just like last game. _________________ I was an atheist, until I knew Kobe.

The two teams are eerily similar. Tim Duncan and Roy Hibbert are both tall. Huertas and Ginibili are both from So. America somewhere.
I can't decide. |
