Sorry if this has already been posted.

Quote:
Turiaf to Get Visa

Ronny Turiaf is expected to leave Sunday and travel to Toronto to get his work visa that will allow him to play, team spokesman John Black said.

Black said Turiaf, the Lakers' second-round draft pick who did not join the team until recently after having open-heart surgery, will have the student visa he got when he played at Gonzaga switched to a work visa. Black said Turiaf should get it Monday or Tuesday, and then join the Lakers before they play in Dallas on Tuesday.

Hopefully, by Tuesday, he can play. If he does, he's definitely going to be a great help.

I also found this in other sources, like four or so. But I only posted the one with most information.

Go Ronny!

I was at the Hornets game. I cannot wait for RT to get on the court. Every dead ball Ronnie was the first one on the floor to hand out high-5s and the last one to come to bench after he handed out more encouraging high-5s.

Ronnie is the anti-Odom. LO sat at the end of the bench and didn't once try and encourage any of the Lakers to get the team motivated. Apparently, LO is too cool to be supportive from the bench. I cannot stand Odom as a player or person!

We just need his energy and his hustle. That doesn't seem to exist in any of the other scrubs.

I can't wait.

Turiaf is a 4 year college grad however and is physically fully developed, he's not much younger than Kwame! Different issue here...If Phil watches any tape of this last game, I can't imagine Kwame not getting a serious tounge lashing.

Don't look for Turiaf to get any playing time anytime soon. Phil said as much.

true, ronny is a rookie. but hes four years older that bynum. and, hes not supposed to be a project. if i recall right, phil said 6-8 min per game is reasonable. hopefully he gets more.

Well, I hope you're right. If Ronny plays well and brings energy...I'm all for his getting more pt. (But knowing Phil, I doubt it.)

like i said, dont think he has much of a choice with odom and mihm out...as far as knowing phil, well he is playing Sasha alot because he brings energy and tries hard on D...I think we can safely expect Turiaf to do just that.

Power players have to take on 30 year olds, who are fully mature and experienced. The transition isn't usually instant.

agreed, but at this point I'd rather take someone who puts out the effort, even if it resolves into hacks, then what Kwame has been doing on defense lately.

Will Mihm miss Tuesday's game? Funny that Turiaf has to go to Toronto to change his visa from a student's to a worker's.

Didn't Kcal mention that Mihm couldn't lift his arm...kinda like Odom. That doesn't sound too good if I heard correctly.

The Lakers need Ronny to provide some energy. There seems to be a lack of spark at times. Ronny should be a good chemistry guy.
