Quote:
"We got beat up on our home floor tonight," Love told reporters after the game Monday. "I think a lot of things went wrong, a lot of things we need to clean up in our preparation, but I think they're the better team right now. We have a lot of things to get better at. That's going to take a lot of guys looking themselves in the mirror and it all starts with our leader (James) over there and dwindles on down."

Shots fired from the guy who plays no defense.

Love needs to shut up. He's just a slightly above average PF. He plays no defense, has bad shot selection, and is a low percentage shooter.

For all of the talk about not being healthy against the W's, I thought the Cavs were better without Kyrie and Love. They had a real defensive mindset that the W's had to solve. The Cavs need another 2 way player, though. Lebron can't stiff-arm his way to the basket for an entire series.

I do think the Cavs are not using Love well at all, but his defense will get attacked mercilessly.

I'd like to get excited that this will be something, but it happened in Miami as well a few times. Wade was seen yelling at LBJ even on the court in the playoffs. I think Love's just being honest. There's no way you should be getting beat like that at home in a big game against the team you lost to in the Finals. He's saying everyone didn't bring it in that game, from LBJ down to the last guy that played.

It's like the Lakers/Celtics from the 2008-2009 season. The Lakers played 2 games against them in the RS and brought their greatest effort. They wanted to prove something to them C's and to themselves that they had put in another gear and level.

The Cavs are in the same boat having a team that is the most talented in their conference and likely in another Finals, and they needed to play that extra gear in those games, yet failed to bring it. If you had seen those Laker teams from 09 get their ass handed to them after that Finals in the ensuing RS, you'd hear lots of talk similar to this.

The other thing is - while the East is much improved this season, the East improvement is from below CLE. Teams like Indiana, Boston, Detroit, New York and Miami are all better - but that is only better in terms of making the playoff race interesting. The top teams from last year in the East - CLE, Toronto, Atlanta, Chicago - none of them have improved significantly. It's still likely a pretty straight forward run to the Finals for LBJ/Cavs.

Golden State is playing incredibly well, but injuries do happen. If they suffer an injury, and the playoffs are a new season, you never know what happens.

I wouldn't scream the sky is falling if I were CLE. They're in as good a spot to get back to the Finals as they were last year, if not better. The big thing for them will be to either find a way to get on GST' level (not realistic) or hoping that GST lower their level by playoffs (somewhat possible especially if an injury were to happen). You just never know what will happen come Finals time. Having a team that is so far ahead of the rest of the pack in your conference is a major advantage. CLE losing before the Finals would be more surprising than GST losing to the Spurs or OKC, IMO.

That's a bizarre quote. In the article they tried to make it seem like he meant something else but that's still a really bizarre quote.

I don't think anyone really knows what Love was saying, maybe not even Love himself. You can interpret what he said a million different ways, because it was so unclear, but who knows?

Bottom line for me: Love is struggling in trying to adjust to being the third guy.

Well, it looks like Blatt might be available after this season, want him to replace Byron?

Love is actually a pretty decent post defender, but they don't have him defending in the post. When you have a player like him who is limited, playing to his strengths seems to make sense.

They don't play to his strengths offensively either. Him and Lebron don't mesh well at all. I was surprised when he resigned there.

This is a non-story, here's a video for visual context. Doesn't really look like he's calling anyone out.

I didn't bother to click the link, it sounded to me like a "we got our butts kicked, we need to regroup" comment. Nothing serious, just something players say when they lose.

If they don't win a ring this year Love will be shopped aggressively this summer. However, teams will lowball the Cavs knowing that they are stuck in a rut.

Which would be so stupid for them, given Love's value. I'm trying to think of a player not named Draymond Green who could help them more against GSW in the next couple years. Anthony Davis?

SAS said Love didn't appreciate Lebron calling him out through some tweets last year. He talked with Cavs "sources" and it was aimed at Lebron. SAS obviously blasted Love for targeting Lebron after he had 3 points in the game.

Lebron would make a terrible GM, didn't he send Wiggins off the Cavs boat to get Love onboard?

That may have cost them the championship last year. And they could have gotten Love during last offseason anyway with the cap space.

Imagine Wiggins on this team.

This is why guys like Lebron, Kobe do not make great GMs.
