Unless he is traded to the Lakers, then he can spout off all he wants.
No doubt

Well, It was the right move to attack Kobe and to make him do something defensively (After rereading I think he was talkin about Kobe). If he's saying that Kobe doesn't like to play defence, I think PJ is way off base. It really isn't doesn't matter, we all know that the Lakers defence as a whole has been bleak.

I have started a couple of those threads annually for the past 8 years. It hasn't done any good.

This is total over-reaction. PJ was saying, in essence, "players who are prolific scorers like don't like to have to play defense, as it takes energy. So putting pressure on them is a wise strategy, because it tires them out, and we did pretty well with that tonight".

Am I missing something in that context? Sounds pretty boilerplate to me.

So what team did PJ Brown say would win the superbowl...I'd Love to hear "his" opinion. Also, what's PJ Brown's stance on the whole Iraq situation. I'd like to personally ask PJ Brown for some financial advice. Anybody have his cell phone # ?

Kobe DOES like to play defense and I think a losing organization like the Oklahoma Hornets should learn some class and shut their mouths. That last shot in regulation was another prime example of winning with class. I'm thinking Kobe will remember...

I think it's been brought up on this board before that Kobe tends to relax defensively unless he's playing against a top player (a la T-Mac). So going hard at him is not only a good strategy, but one that has a good chance of working.

And hopefully Kobe and the Lakers don't have to seek motivation in baskets made in the closing moments of games against really bad opponents. If so, then they have bigger problems.

People can say things like that when they beat us the way they did. The Lakers can not let this happen, they have to show pride and hustle at all times. They got out worked for the third game in a row and that should never happen. Remember this night and stick it to the Hornets when they come to Staples.

I understand if Kobe does not defend 100% in these games .

No Mihm and no Lamar.

Kobe has to carry the team on offense and he has also to be the initiator when Luke Walton is not on the floor .

If he played his lockdown defense even against scrubs like Mason, he would be worn out by the end of this month.

Instead, I'm mad at the rest of the team, with few exceptions.

They know Kobe has too much to do and they know they are not talented enough to be significant contributor on offense; so they would have to put a lot of their effort on defense.

Why aren't they doing that ?

P.J. is absolutely right: the Lakers play about 10 seconds worth, then don't switch on guys wide open, don't rush when they take the shot, don't even hold their hands up to disrupt shots. All you have to do is pass the ball about three times on the Lakers and you'll get an uncontested shot, pretty much every time. It's disgusting.

kobe's weakness is he does not try hard enough to deny position when a guy tries to post him up. MJ would fight to prevent you from posting up.

Bruce bowen will fight to prevent you from getting posiiton. Kobe just lets the guy get the ball. 1st step, and at the rim. Cakewalk.

Guys if you read carefully he's talking about Kobe's D, not the rest of the team's. He's clearly way off base.
