This is 91-100. The list won't be much to talk about until we see more of it. I'm a little surprised that Lenny Wilkins and Mark Price are so far down the list.

From 1-20 is going to be controversial for a lot of NBA fans as do most of these lists. I guess ESPN needs the hits.

It will be interesting to see where current players Kobe, Duncan and Lebron end up on this list.

They're gonna put Kobe at #11 or #12, it's too easy to stir up some controversy and get a bunch of clicks from angry Kobe fans. Lebron & Duncan inside Top 10

The way they did the list -- having voters do thousands of side by side comparisons -- make it hard if not impossible to position a player in a certain spot on purpose. I don't believe people like Larry Coon are making choices they don't agree with just to create clicks for this list.

My guess is all three of them make the top 10.

Think it will be, in some order:

Kareem, Wilt, Russell, Shaq, Duncan, Lebron, Bird, Jordan, Kobe, Magic.

It is conceivable that Kobe gets knocked down to 11 by Hakeem, but that's as low as I could see him going.

They had a roundtable of four ESPN writers where I think unanimously they all put him in the 11-15 range. IIRC Hakeem & the Big O were the two guys who pushed him out of the Top-10 outside of the 9 guys you already listed.

Few of their analysts put Kobe outside the top 10 when he announced his retirement.

They already ranked Kobe over Wade and AI. Melo didn't make the top 10 at his position. I expect that Lebron will rank above Kobe, but that Garnett, Dirk, and Curry will not. I expect Kobe to fall somewhere in the 9-14 range. I guess we'll find out sometime around the end of next week.

I could see them ranking Lebron higher than Kobe, but not any of the others.

Yeah I can only see Duncan and LeBron being ranked in front of him. KG, Dirk, and Wade will be a few spots down. AI and Melo won't be close.

I haven't sat down to do a top 100, but my feeling is Kevin Love isn't one of the best 100 guys to ever play.

One of the writers, I recall placed, him 6-12 or something like that. The concensus was that he fell just outside the top 10, 11 or 12. However, this is a different process. The voters don't specifically rank players. They are given tons of players to compare (is X better than Y) and the listings are based on that. My guess is Kobe will fall 8-12 on this list.

I'd put him in the top 10 myself, but I can understand people who would knock him off the top 10 in place of Hakeem and Oscar. In my view, there are at least a dozen guys who are reasonable choices for the top 10, so inevitably someone has to be left off.

The next wave. Still nothing terribly interesting. Some people will think that Billups and DJ should rank higher.

I was thinking a guy like Brad Daugherty would be in the 90-100 range. He played 8 seasons and had 6 healthy ones, which were really good for those years he was healthy.

Well, if I were starting a team or doing a playground choose-up with one or the other, I'd choose Mutombo. Pete was fun to watch, but for my franchise's future, pure basketball entertainment comes second to tenacity.

The top 12 should be, in some order, Jordan, Kareem, Wilt, Russell, Magic, Bird, Shaq, Kobe, Duncan, Hakeem, Oscar, and LeBron. I personally think Hakeem shades it over the latter two, but as it's ESPN, there's almost no chance LeBron doesn't make the top ten, probably at Hakeem's expense but possibly at Kobe's.

It will be interesting to see, as time goes on, how people end up separating Shaq, Kobe and Duncan. To me, it's almost impossible to separate the three, I see them all ranked equally at #7. I guess if Duncan wins another ring, and puts in a very strong playoff performance as he usually does, he make get some separation from O'Neal and Bryant.
