Anyone else notice that this team's defense had really regressed? In the beginning of the year at least they were playing decent D and staying in games. Lately they couldn't make any defensive stops. Rotation is horrible, miscommunication, guys not boxing out and giving up way too many offensive board and easy put backs, going under screens on shooters, not closing on shooters and too lazy to even put up a hand to challenge shooters, double teaming scrubs for no reason and giving up wide open shot. I mean if anything you expect the team to play better D now that they have half a season playing together. They can talk about executing the triangle all day, but if the defense doesn't improve soon, things can collapse just like last season's second half. _________________ Ringo "You retired too?"

it's sad to admit it.. but this team has just given up.
changes need to be made unless we want to spiral into a 30 win season like last year. |

Our defense really has slipped. Earlier this season, I proudly made a thread about how we were #6 in points per possession defense. We're currently #16. |

Defense? This squad doesn't know the meaning of the word. They either dont give a (bleep) or are too lazy to play any defense. _________________ David Stern and NBA Officials <-- 2004 NBA Champions |

smush got a guaranteed contract thats what happened to his defense. Not sure about kwame, maybe PJ made a comments about his furs again :/
maybe PJ needs to cad practicing the triangle and just practice defense every day. Lor knows no one can hit an open shot on this team anyway so they can just dump it to kobe and stand around watching him like they do anyway. NO need to practice that. |

True, I think the team has given up to some extent. Outside of Kobe, no one elses head is the game defensively or offensively for that matter. |
