Byron Scott is chasing some very dubious history this season, and is about to catch it. At 446-620 (.418) on his career, he is currently 87 games under .500 as an NBA coach. Believe it or not, the only coach in NBA history to have a worse record after 1,000 games coaching and be more games below .500 is Kevin Loughery, who is 94 games below .500 and has a winning percentage (.417) that is just slightly below Byron's.
Please join me in cheering Byron on in his quest to become the objectively worst coach in NBA history.

But of course none of this is Byron Scott's fault. Everywhere he's been, the roster was full of players who just wouldn't man up, played scared and tried to take over games.

GT, you should make the thread title of this huge and extravagant with all CAPS, use asterisks ****, add the word "Official" and maybe "Parade in Figueroa". _________________
Not surprised Kevin Loughery has been atop that list, didn't care for his whiny commentary on the old Clipper telecasts when he was out of coaching jobs. Miami, for some inexplicable reason hired him to coach the Heat back in the 90s. Harold Miner unfortunately ended up there and never found his way out of Kevin's doghouse.
Good luck to Byron on his quest, he won't need it though, he will soon kick Kevin Loughery to the curb.

DING, DING, DING, WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!! That's the common theme with that S O B!!!
I still don't understand how one of the most winningest organizations in all of sports can do this to themselves. They damn near threw two seasons with Byron and are now using the KFT as an excuse to keep him around. Imagine a team like the Patriots doing that for Brady. Nope. Nope. Nope.
If we don't get a guy like Simmons, this season will leave a bitter taste for a very, very long time.
On the bright side, the next coach can't be any worse.
Yeah, that's the value of this. Our young guys especially are going to want to run through a wall for our next coach, presuming he's halfway competent.

With the coaches available on the market, there's no way we should swing and miss again. Blatt, Luke, Thibs, Atkinson, and even Hollins would all be better choices than Byron. I dunno whether the problem with the Nets was Hollins himself or the team just sucking, but he was a decent coach in Memphis. Question would be whether he'd be willing to adapt to the modern NBA.

Mitch needs to find us a Brad Stevens and everything will be forgiven.
It would be really interesting to know the w/l record for every team Byron has coached for the year or two after Byron was let go. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night.

One would hope. But then again, we interviewed Scott 3-4 times. Sigh. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
