Since we have nothing better to talk about, let's go:

Palpatine/Emperor: Byron. Claiming to be a "good guy" he is really a master of the Dark Side, fooling everyone into hiring him as the "head coach." When in power, he consolidates all the forces to destroy the galaxy. Who can stop him?

Darth Vader: Kobe. Waiting and waiting and seeing how Byron the Emperor is killing Luke Skywalker. Need him to throw Byron down the chute but he's struggling inside. "But Byron was my friend...but he's so incompetent...but he's a Showtime great...but he's so backward..."

Powerless Senate
: Mitch. Stuck in no man's land and bureaucracy, can't do anything.

Luke Skywalker: DLO. Young prodigy who needs someone to teach him the Force, but is relying solely on his own talent. Emperor Byron is cooking his brains out while Kobe Vader decides when to intervene.

Ron Artest: that goofy looking dude who is a co-pilot to Lando Calrissian when he takes the Millennium Falcon to help destroy the Death Star. A veteran and winner of previous wars, he's now stuck with the Millennial "Rebels."

Princess Leia: Jordan Clarkson. DLO's twin but seemingly less powerful twin who has a cult following.

Lando Carlessian: Rick Fox. Enough said.

Obi-Wan: Phil Jax. Could have helped Luke DLO but is in another dimension (NY).

Please fill in more...

True. Speaks a language no one understands. I can have a Hobbit/Stars cross-pollinated reference too.

Good point. Who is C3PO? The "talker?"

Damn. Good one. Let's go.

Jar Jar Binks: John Ireland.

I like those. Senate is a good comparison to Mitch.

I see Mitch more as Gandalf from LOTR - has the magic wand, good intentions and always trying to guide the team in the right direction, but up against forces (KFT, Byron, Buss family) he cannot control.

Mitch - Gandalf
DLo - Frodo
Clarkson - Sam Gamgee
Kobe - Bilbo
Buss family - Saruman
Byron - Sauron

Ok, only 1 LOTR comparison allowed in this thread.

Yeah. My bad for going OT a bit. Mitch doesn't really deserve a lot of the blame he is getting. He's drafted really well under the circumstances.

Nick Young as Jar Jar Binks

Metta is Yoda. He speaks madness, but it just might be brilliant.

Rick Fox is Han Solo. Old school cool.

Sasha Vujacic is Leia. Help me Kobe, you're my only hope.

Roy Hibbert is Frozen in Carbonite Han Solo

Julius Randle is Zoolander, he can only go left.

La Tigre and Blue Steel have got him to this point, but Magnum will make him a star!

Byron Scott - Jar Jar Binks. Thinks he is intelligent because he can speak. Complete moron.

Mitch Kupchak - Princess Leia. The general and chief architect of the overarching vision for the team.

Jim Buss - Kylo Ren. Obsessed with trying to live up to the legacy of his predecessor (I get that this makes Dr. Buss Vader but whatever) but hasn't quite gotten there and is somewhat of a laughingstock for his amateurish appearance.

Kobe Bryant - Obi Wan Kenobi. Training the young jedi, retiring at the end of the season but will always remain a voice in their heads.

D'angelo Russell - Anakin/Luke Skywalker. The young hotshot who has to mature and grow to save the franchise. Could go good or bad depending on the influence of adults around him.

Julius Randle - Chewbacca. One note, brute force player with little ability for subtlety/finesse.

Jordan Clarkson - Han Solo. Shoots first, smooth.

Roy Hibbert - C3PO. Robotic movements, goofy speech, but ultimately does his job.

Larry Nance Jr. - Rey. Overlooked and unassuming, but unlocking his potential.

Nick Young - Stormtrooper. Shoots a lot, usually misses.
