You get to pick one of these guys in his prime and your goal is to win a championship. Who do you pick?

TMac: amazing talent, questionable mental state.

Melo: Ibid.

Wade: killer.

For one season and the player is guaranteed to stay healthy for the entire year then it's definitely T-Mac.

Well, Wade has multiple championships, so:

1) Wade - always wish he had developed a better perimeter shot, but the attack dog mentality in the clutch (and the ability to rack up FTAs), his ability to just kill teams in transition, the defense, etc make him the choice for me.

2) TMac - peak Orlando TMac might have been the best pure baller out of the three, but he never had that killer mentality Wade had. Also a better defender than Melo during his peak.

3) Melo - despite seeming a bit lacksadaisical, I think he has a strong competitive streak in the moment, and he's arguably the best half-court scorer of the three. But the defense...

If it was just on ability, Tracy, no question. When you bring in intangibles, you go with Wade.

When it was go-time in the playoffs, TMac could never get his team out of the first rounds. Supreme talent, weak mental make up.

Wade, provided he still retains the refs in his pocket.

So just between McGrady and Carmelo, would anyone take Carmelo?

McGrady. I think the right coach would have done wonders.

Thinking back to "those days". I predict that McGrady will retire early, Wade will win a couple of rings and Carmelo will be the big man on a losing team forever!!

I hate Wade but I dont see how anyone can claim he is best option by far. The fact that he actually has rings alone makes it a no brainer

Wade for health reasons. I would then pick Melo just because of his post-season experience. Tmac is great for stats but man he is awful in the postseason.

1-Healthy T-Mac.
2-Wade.
3-Melo.

If you take it as a career - 10+ years.

Wade
Melo
T-Mac

T-Mac has about 5-6 amazing years, but then really injuries just derailed him. Melo/Wade have been able to maintain a really high level for much longer. Wade has an extra gear that Melo has not shown.

So for me Wade, Melo then T-Mac in that order if it's about their entire career. If it's for 1 specific year or a few years, I take T-Mac first.

Wade. He's the only one that plays any kind of defense between the three of them.
