Someone help me out here.

So, Kevin McHale gets his team to the Western Conference Finals and gets fired after 11 games in the very next season. David Blatt gets his team to the finals and gets fired the next season after a winning record of 30-11. Now Jeff Hornacek gets fired with a record tied with the Timberwolves. But, Byron Scott, who earns the worst record in Laker history and a terrible losing record overall, still have a job?

Someone please explain this to me.

KFT and former laker legend. The showtime cartel would be up in arms about it. They can't fire him because it will likely piss Kobe off too.

expectations?

The most secure job is the one with the lowest expectations?

Doesn't the Philadelphia Sixers coach still have a job?

Kobe has nothing to do with Byron.

There really is no acceptable explanation.

They don't want to fire Scott because they don't want a big distraction for the KFT I'm guessing....But we'll see if they drop him in the summer.

If they don't....all is lost

We can still have the KFT and not piss on the young players.

We can still suck to have a shot a top 3 pick and piss on the young players.

Byron isn't needed for a Kobe farewell tour. The ONLY possible explanation is hoping to get better than a coin-flip's chance to keep this year's pick.

No. Lakers expectations were to go to the playoffs. As per GM, owner, and LG (check win prediction thread).

The Lakers haven't had a coach who coached out his contract since Phil Jackson in 2011.

I am with the OP. My god, we have lost 10 in a row, including losses to some bad teams. What does it take to get this guy fired?

Hes our tank general, why would we fire him now when he's doing so good at winning the war to keep our pick?

and somehow he seems to have Kobe's support and Mitch's backing. Inexplicable.

He doesn't even seem to know how to use the seasoned veterans he's been given or come up with any semblance of consistent rotations. It's not rocket surgery!!

Our FO doesn't deserve to be rewarded for the crap we are seeing. Let them take the hit and react.

So you would rather punish the FO than be a better team next year? You're a unique fan.
