The lottery ball drops out of the top 3 is about the worst thing that could come out of this unbelievably bad season.
Because the season would be a complete waste other then Kobe getting his farewell tour.

what'd be worse? winning meaningless games with heavy usage on Kobe so Bryon would look good enough to keep his job going into next season.

If the coach decided to NOT play our two last lottery picks to "teach 'em a lesson" in a meaningless season, HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH... oh, wait...

Russell admits he doesn't like basketball and starts a professional bowling career
Randle, inspired, does the same but with curling
Clarkson, not wanting to miss out, then does it as well but with professional starcraft
We are left with sacre as our franchise player _________________ Kobe

OK, now those would make this season comically worse. I laughed out loud.

As it stands, we have roughly the same chance of losing the top pick as a Deandre Jordan FT has of going in.

And it serves as grounds for the FO to allow Byron's "trial" to bleed into next season. _________________ We back.

Byron Scott being praised by the front office.
Trading Russell for a has-been, name brand player.
"Winning" the worst record in franchise history, and losing the lotto pick.
Jimmy and Jeanie humiliating themselves while courting a free agent, and then failing to sign him.
After failing to sign any decent free agents, Hibbert is re-signed to a rich, multi-year contract.
After making strides in the NBDL, Upshaw is signed by the Boston Celtics.
The Lakers trade Randle and the first round picks in 2017 and 2019 for Kevin Love.
Clarkson decides he's had enough, and signs elsewhere as a free agent.
And Donald Trump is elected President of the United States.

Well, that's why tanking doesn't really make sense this year. Among other reasons. But hey, if we get lucky, great.

That's a reality that's damn near a coin flip away.
Boston then wins the lottery and takes Simmons, while Philly uses the Lakers pick and Okafor to trade for Demarcus Cousins.

Oh, and I forgot to add one more to the list:
After years of PR stagnation, Jeanie sells a minority stake in the franchise to the Kardashians, who then take over marketing department.

Swaggy getting hot and winning some must-lose games for us towards the end of the season. Then Byron winks at the camera as we get the 4th pick.
