...was getting dunked on by Ryan Anderson. Yes he got got posterized by a jump shooter, but he's showing these kids defensive effort, even if there was little hope to stop the dunk. I understand Randle had 5 fouls, but he needed to give himself up on either wide open layup attempt he gave up and trust his team to close it out. Everyone will remember the clutch three, but I hope the young players see a selfless legend in his twilight.

There are times when Kobe doesn't show defensive effort though...there was a few tonight in fact.

I agree, he's been taking more chances than ever so by no means is he consistent anymore but this is something that's overlooked. I don't know if this generation or some of this board will even understand what I'm getting at, and I'm a basketball novice compared to a lot of you. Kobe knows he's beat and doesn't have the ups he once had but still contests the shot in hopes of altering it some, mixtape highlight be damned. I get that the young guys are still learning to play defense at an NBA level and building chemistry, but the help defense and effort isn't where it needs to be. Kobe's passion for winning the game knows no limits even if his body does.

One thing I hate is someone that doesn't read the whole post but choses to respond. If you can't see the respect I have for him in that post, there is nothing I can add to change that.
