Doubt Duncan will want one. Dirk? Nah. Maybe Lebron though he's alienated a lot of NBA fans.

Hopefully no one. For the most part it's been tough for me to watch.

Lebron, but it will be nothing like Kobes, although ESPN may do a piece everyday on how lebron is better than mj, lol

Wade? Eh. Can't think of anyone on the radar now. Curry/KD? Who knows.

I think it might be Curry. If he wins the next chip, he's going to be huge worldwide. He'll pick up where Kobe left off in China.

I've wondered the same lately. It's pretty amazing the reception that Kobe is getting everywhere. My first thought was Lebron but I'm not sure he'sseen in quite the same legendary light as Kobe. I think this is partly due to the fact that Kobe bridges such a large gap between the late-90s Golden Age and the modern NBA. In addition to the fact that he has a more aesthetically pleasing game than Lebron's. I wouldn't be shocked if Lebron got a farewell tour, but he doesn't get quite the same superlatives from the NBA community that Kobe gets, imo. That's not to say people don't think highly of him either. His greatness is duly recognized.

Agree KBH.

I think Kobe is one of the rare players, that opposing fans love to hate.

It's different than my hate for say, CP3. He's just a guy I don't like.

Duncan, assuming he announces his retirement early in the year. He is the only guy with a similar longevity and impact as Kobe has had.

Meh, I don't think that anyone has to "ask" for a farewell tour. If someone announces their retirement before the season, they'll get their due respect, especially if it's a universal figure like Duncan, Lebron, or Curry.

Tim Duncan may be better than Kobe as a basketball player( at least in some people's eyes), but he is no where near Kobe in terms of popularity, look at the history of NBA all star voting

Deserves one but dont think he would want one.

Also popularity wise is probably on the low side compared to other superstars

Which ever player that was already getting MVP chants at opposing arenas for almost the entire decade before their retirement will likely be the next one. At the moment, it doesn't appear that player is even in the league yet.

It'll take a player from a team with a large spread out fan base, and a player who excelled for that team. In other words, we're unlikely to see this again for at least another couple decades after the Next Laker great winds down his career. The other potentials at this point simply don't have the correct set of ingredients. Sorry, but Lebron or Curry won't be hearing routine MVP chants in the Boston Garden...

If KD wins rings as a Laker he may have a true KFT.

Right. Kobe is like Tom Brady to me. I love to hate Brady but I appreciate his ability and that he's a winner. I love to hate him and I'll be a bit sad when he's gone. Conversely, I just don't like Lebron and take a different type of pleasure when he loses.

Not a coincidence that the most memorable farewell tours happen to lakers greats. Kareem. Magic. Kobe. Sacre.

So you're still saying Sacre has a chance then?
