Either way, I feel the same.

The Denver Broncos team is sending Peyton Manning out as a champion and I wish the Lakers could've done the same for Kobe Bryant!

You mean the 50 million and this season dedicated to him isnt enough?
Would've been nice. Maybe if we had the best defense in the league, we could. Wait, we don't have Rudy Gobert, Draymond Green, Kawhi Leonard, and Avery Bradley?

I don't get the sense that he has a good grasp - awareness of the current CBA. He also appears to lack an appreciation for how competitive things are going against other Front Offices.

The funny part is that the Broncos aren't even the team Peyton will be most associated with-- the Colts are. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

Really enjoyed a recent Bill Simmons Podcast that had Charles Barkley on it.
Per the usual, Simmons was trying to minimize Kobe's career accomplishments by focusing on how he's struggled shooting this year.
Simmons has repeatedly said, Duncan is a better all time player than Kobe. And gives the example of Duncan "fitting in" past his prime, as one of the reasons.
Charles Barkley shut that narrative down. Said Kobe's had just as good of a year as Duncan if not better.
Charles said, Duncan got the support of two prime allstars on his roster. One the Spurs got through the draft (Kawhi) and one through FA (Aldridge). Chuck then proceeded to ask, "Who is Kobe's Kawhi? Where is Kobe's Aldridge?". Duncan looks more serviceable as a player than Kobe now, strictly due to his supporting cast.
The same could be said about Payton Manning and the Denver Broncos defense. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”
I don't think Lakers did any disservice to Kobe. Even Kobe doesn't say that despite how frustrating last 3 years have been. He's still pissed off at the veto. Lakers were targeted for their own success. Clippers could have got the same deal done without any objection. Kobe played in 7 finals and had teammates like Shaq and Gasol. Lakers tried their best to get him another ring or two with CP3 trade and Dwight/Nash trades the following year. FO deserves blame for hiring MDA who didn't fit in with the roster we had.

We're not the Spurs lol. Their GOAT-level management, ownership and scouting has them competing for a ring year after year. We're basically the exact opposite of that now.
Duncan might just get a "Peyton Manning" kind of farewell.
