Didn't call out Byron, but did a number on Jim Buss.

Highlights:
-Said Buss' ego getting in the way of doing his job. Good person, but not a good executive or CEO. Lakers need a personality who can relate to players and attract stars.
-Wants Lakers to bring back Jerry West. Said West worked with Mitch to build good teams.

On Kobe:
- Top 5-6 all-time.
- Said Kobe and Shaq could have won 7-10 rings if they stayed together and put egos aside.
- Sad to see Kobe go out on losing team.
- Spoke highly of Kobe's charitable work outside the court. Helping the homeless community in LA.

Typical. Don't want any of the Showtime cartel defending this non-coach, one of the higher paid coaches with a crappy contract to boot for his long history of mediocrity. He should be thanking Jimbo for giving his boy a golden parachute

Magic should be working on getting the TWC and DirectTV to strike a deal so we can see Vin Scully call his final season. He didn't do much to help get Vinny a decent team to comment on this offseason. Its going to be sad if Vinny has a short season.

Has Jimbo ever said anything noteworthy in response to Magic's bashing? I'm curious.

Also, I know the popular thing to do is to criticize everyone these days, but I can't be mad at Magic for this. Not that I agree with everything/anything he said. I've just gone numb to the finger pointing at this point. Let's get this season over with.

In a way, he is indirectly criticizing Byron. Wasn't Byron a Jim Buss hire?

That's the only appropriate follow-up question that, of course, nobody outside of Don MacLean and silverscreen&roll have the balls to ask: "Does your criticism of Jim include his coaching choice?"

Did Magic Johnson criticize Jim Buss for hiring his buddy Byron Scott?

considering Magic was so quick to rip D"Antoni any chance he has in the past, this is a very legit question to ask him.

Worry bout the Dodgers.

Calling out Jim every chance he gets is getting old.

It's rare for a person to lose all of the good will he developed as a player in his post playing career. Magic has somehow done it.

Not exactly showing any flying colors/previews about him being involved as a part-owner with Jeannie.

I agree with Magic completely. Jim Buss is not a good basketball executive. Also agree with Magic about Kobe being 5-6 all time.

I remember hearing him say something like they've finally hired the right coach .
I will bet big money that when they fire Byron Magic will be on air ripping Jim Buss for the firing.

Nothing about Coach Scott who in his 2 seasons here has been able to set new marks for mediocrity in the entire Lakers history.

How do we know that he has an ego? What has Jim Buss said in the media that let everyone to that conclusion. Magic=ego, Byron Scott=ego, Phil=ego, Jeanie with her tell all diary=ego. The only people that doesn't come of like they have egos are Jim and Mitch. I don't know them personally but damn Magic.

Byron sucks, everyone knows it and Magic is really good friends with him so it makes no sense for him to burn that bridge. The real problem is the people who hired Byron in the first place: Jim Buss and Mitch Kupchak.

Yep, I don't expect them to. But when you put yourself out there in the media and criticize everyone but your buddy he's not exactly coming from an unbiased opinion.
